Middle name for Eleanor

Wondering if anyone will come up with a great combination I haven't thought of!

Top runner at the moment is Eleanor Isobel, I like the cadence of it, but don't like how it makes a sentence (Eleanor is a bell), also close friends just had an Isabelle, so would prefer something different.

I like pretty "feminine" classic names, don't want anything beginning or ending in an "a" or schwa sound.

Do you have a family member or friend that you could name her after? I always think that first names should be their own but I love middle names that have a special meaning. My children all have middle names from their grandparents, my sister's girls have their great-grandmother's names. If you know who you will ask to be Godmother, I bet she would love it if you used her name. (I like two middle names for girls too but maybe that's just me!! Also meant that I could use both Granny's names for DD)

Oooh Eleanor Grace is my favourite, Rose, Mae, Eve, Kay, Rae, Iris, Ruth, Joy all go nice imo. If you liked Isobel originally, perhaps Annabel or Murielle or another Elle ending name...I agree with you though, I have issues with Isobel for the same 'is a bell' reason :)

I know an Eleanor Rosalind if you want something longer and girly.

Also know of a Daisy Eleanor who was going to be Eleanor Daisy. Ooh, and also know an Eleanor Dorothy!

My sisters name is Eleanor Grace and everyone loves it!

Ragwort · 06/05/2011 20:31

I was going to say Eleanor Grace before I saw all the other suggestions but it sounds a lovely name, (very similar to our choice had our DS been a DD Grin).

Oakmaiden · 06/05/2011 20:33

I have an Eleanor Amaris. I know you said no "A" names, but I just tought I would chuck that in. It means "daughter of the moon".

Haystack · 06/05/2011 22:51

I have an Eleanor Jocelyn
Also know Eleanor Alice
Eleanor Iris
Eleanor Rosie

In fact choice of middle name very important round here as so many in my dd age group they are often known by both names to differentiate.

Lol, I think every female name in my and DH family have been suggested now!

I do like the idea of naming after a special family member, but MIL in particular has made her feelings on this clear - ie it is not fair on everyone else who doesn't get named after... Also we didn't do this for DD1.

DH and I are a bit polarised in our likes and dislikes - how did we ever agree on a first name! I love Rosalind but apparently it is also too serious.

He likes Zara and Zoe, I don't!
