Middle name for Eleanor

Wondering if anyone will come up with a great combination I haven't thought of!

Top runner at the moment is Eleanor Isobel, I like the cadence of it, but don't like how it makes a sentence (Eleanor is a bell), also close friends just had an Isabelle, so would prefer something different.

I like pretty "feminine" classic names, don't want anything beginning or ending in an "a" or schwa sound.

Eleanor Louise has a very fine ring to it

Also, think of what other names you'd use if you have another girl and make sure you don't use your other favourite names as a second name for this one coming along :)

I'm Eleanor Victoria Juliet (just known as Ellie though, and often there isn't enough space on forms for both middle names...), but I think Eleanor Grace and Eleanor Rose are absolutely beautiful. Personally I think depends on your surname and how all the names will sound together.

manicinsomniac · 08/05/2011 22:08

I agree with Grace, Rose and May.

But for 2 syllables:

Of the ones suggeted so far I like Eleanor Charlotte

Otherwise:
Eleanor Roseanne
Eleanor Sophie
Eleanor Nicole
Eleanor Isla
Eleanor Kathryn
Eleanor Georgia
Eleanor Jasmine

Classic Ideas:
Eleanor Hero
Eleanor Ophelia
Eleanor Bianca
Eleanor Odile
Eleanor Odette
Eleanor Giselle
Eleanor Cordelia
Eleanor Hermione

Eleanor Mary - my dd

mich54321 · 09/05/2011 23:04

Eleanor Grace
Eleanor Rose
Eleanor Mae
Eleanor Ruby

Agree that a short middle name sounds best

sleepingsowell · 09/05/2011 23:14

I agree with Hubba - of all the suggestions so far Eleanor Louise is the most pleasing - and the names somehow 'match' imo, they are pretty but not cutesy - they are 'dignified' names iyswim.

Rose, Mae and Grace - there should be an amnesty of ten years before they're allowed to be used again!!!

TabithaTwitchet · 10/05/2011 14:14

Right, we are now thinking of Eleanor Juliet(te) or Frances or Rosalie. And possibly may start considering Eleanor Lucie/Lucy. What does everyone think?

Louise is my name! (I agree it does flow nicely with Eleanor Grin).

Eleanor Frances is lovely, very elegant.

mathanxiety · 10/05/2011 14:40

I think so too, Minipie. All of those possibilities have a lot going for them.

FebreezeYourJeans · 10/05/2011 18:37

Eleanor Juliet for me, Eleanor Francis does sound very strong

sleepingsowell · 10/05/2011 23:04

I like Eleanor Frances. Very stylish and elegant.
Spooky that Louise is your name TT!

MercurySoccer · 10/05/2011 23:09

I like all of those!

MotherOfSuburbia · 25/05/2011 20:10

We have Eleanor Rose Louise - both middle names from family members.

typsical · 27/05/2011 08:47

I love Eleanor Primrose...?

Eleanorxxx · 16/07/2017 21:54

I have a 13 year old daughter and her name is Eleanor Rose it sometimes gets shortened to Ellie Rose which she likes. I do agree on the one syllable though, otherwise it can become quite a handful

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 16/07/2017 21:56

This thread is from 2011. Little Eleanor will be about 6 years old, now

Polly1977 · 16/07/2017 22:01

I am Eleanor Kate and have always loved my middle name, plus it's quite underused these days

mrsRosaPimento · 16/07/2017 22:01

Lydia. My grandma's middle name.

mrsRosaPimento · 16/07/2017 22:03

How does this happen? And, why didn't op come back!?

Sophronia · 16/07/2017 23:39

Eleanor Sophia

Sugarpiehoneyeye · 17/07/2017 10:14

Eleanor Ruby.

ilivebythesea · 17/07/2017 10:25

Eleanor Lucy?

Bear2014 · 17/07/2017 10:31

We have an Eleanor Rae. We came up with it in recovery as Eleanor was set in stone for months but we were convinced baby was a boy and we had no girl middle name. Eleanor means 'light' so I said 'Ray' then OH found the feminine spelling 'Rae'. Apparently it's over-used but I had never come across it before and it flows really nicely so I'm happy.

Aquamarine1029 · 17/07/2017 16:56

Eleanor Robyn
Eleanor Rae
Eleanor Macie

17caterpillars1mouse · 20/07/2017 08:39

Eleanor Felicity, Eleanor Charlotte or Eleanor Dorothy
