What my baby won't be called

i am famously bad at coming up with baby names. For some reason I err towards the faintly ridiculous and I know this but I just don't like any others
DC2 is due in august. So far this is what I've come up with together with the reasons I can't really use them in real life:
Frieda - everyone laughs and says it's far too old ladyish
Aydah / idah - as above
Jemima - bit dull and posh
Thera - not even sure how to say this
Aurelia - dc1 was going to be this but was a boy. Feel a bit weird 'reusing' a name
Delphine - love but a bit odd and what for short? Don't like Della
Giselle - as above and DP doesn't like because he thinks it's like jizz although I says more of a jez sound at the start
Alethea - think I like. Is it said alle thea?
Dulcie - worried about the 'dull' sound
Celestine - again a forerunner for Ds
Amara - like this but can't remember where I heard it and what it means

And to the boys....anyone still with me here?

Agustine / Augustus - I was so excited to be having an august baby. I love names with an obvious meaning and just as I was dusting my hands and congratulating myself on having found a boys name so early DP said no . Reservations are as follows; Augustus - gloop. Augustine - I want to pronounce it august ine. Apparently it's auGustin. Which I don't like, too much like Justin. Also Gus for short has started reminding me of pus. Ewwww
Otto - DS was v nearly Otto. I really like it but it is very German. We are not German.
Leo - like. Fits in with august baby but a bit boring and DP doesn't like
Leander - bit girly. Wouldn't want a lee for short leonidas - I like but a bit poncy
Rastus - my addled with hormones offering
Emile - bit foreign for bog standard non exotic types like us
Idris - see Rastus

So as you see I have lots of ideas but no realistic ones
I had simlar outlandish ideas for DS1 but by the time I'd got him out after a two day labour I didn't care what he was called and DP wentvtor Tobias, which mow I love and is totally him dispite me dismissing it as v boring and brown in sound

I like Frieda, Jemima and Amara (think this might be Arabic?). Also like Otto and Emile.

I do like frieda but the only people Ive mentioned it to look like this

Frieda is good because it's one of those cute/old style type names (Grace, Lily etc) but not nearly as popular so still different.

God, will nobody ever like my suggestion of Aayla? I'm beginning to feel like Kreecher, who pops up to offer Nigel (I think) on every boys name thread

I love Frieda - makes me think of Frieda Kahlo. Also Like Jemima.
For the boys I LOVE Leo (I have one). Masculine and strong, elegant and sophisticated. I might just be biased!?
The other boy's names are a it odd IMO.

Ha yes they're all a bit odd! that's my problem I seem to only like odd but am wise enough to not want to saddle a poor innocent with odd

I knew a Delphine whoose nn was Delphi, pretty name.

Another vote for Leo, very strong name.

Most of the names you aren't going to use are foreign.

Maybe just go for english names (assuming you are english)?

What about Mara if you like Amara?

You have Althea on there - what about Anthea? I had a lovely friend called Anthea so I love the name.

why not just August for a boy, like april for a girl, if you want an name with a meaning, Mariska Hargitay's son is called August,

having said that my dd is called Autumn and i get sick of " was she born in Autumn"?

I know a Tobias with a brother Jasper. What about Casper?

Theodore is a great name, Theo is just lovely.

I know a Delphine shortened to "Delli" - I have always thought it sounds rather lovely.

Of yours, I love Freida but would spell it Frida like Kahlo. Also like Aurelia, if you can get over 'reusing' it. For the boys I only really like Leander. Don't care if it's girly; I'd love to call a son that.

Can't think of any of my own that are that interesting or unusual enough for you; I tend to like Old Testament names (Ruth, Rachel, Abigail, Daniel) and also 'religious' sort of names e.g. Grace, Benedict.

We have good friends with a Theo so that is out

Can't get over anthea turner so anthea out

Know dogs calked Felix, Milo, Jasper and caspar so they're out

Augusta is the female version. Augustine was a saint

Glad Frieda is getting the thumbs up, that is DPs favorite and although I know some are just silly (Rastus and idris) I do really really like delphine. Despite my phone wanting to correct it to dolphin so some really helpful advice thanks

Perhaps if I had to narrow it down to realistic options:
Frieda
Delphine
Idah (is the h silly? It's from a book, possibly the poisonwood bible but I can't remember)

Otto
Leo
Can I have Augustine?

But none of them make my heart sing ( but then Toby didn't either to begin with)

From those options I'd pick Delphine or Leo :)
