Hello

We're expecting DD2 in a couple of weeks and have got it down to 3 names. Her sister is called Martha - a name I didn't think was very common but, since her birth, we've met several of the same age! Please let me know what you think.

Bryony
Hattie
Serena

Thank you!

Hattie for me. Will it be short for anything?

midnightexpress · 26/04/2011 10:21

I also like Hattie - it's usually short for Harriet, though, isn't it? Which I also like fwiw.

And Serena. I know a lovely Serena.

Not so keen on Bryony.

DuelingFanjo · 26/04/2011 10:22

I like Hattie the best.

TurtlesAreRetroRight · 26/04/2011 10:22

Um, all much of a muchness. Serena is probably prettiest by a shade.

pirateparty · 26/04/2011 10:22

Hattie is lovely, and I also love Hettie.

Not so keen on Bryony or Serena.

meditrina · 26/04/2011 10:30

I really like Bryony and Serena.

I see Hattie as a nn (for Henrietta or Harriette).

livinlavidaloca · 26/04/2011 11:17

Hattie and Martha - definately!

WoodyM · 26/04/2011 11:41

I like Hattie best too (short for Harriet). Unfortunately DH prefers the other two. Will have to keep working on him!

Bryony is one of my favourite girl names. I also like Serena. I find Hattie a bit harsh.

Eglu · 26/04/2011 11:47

Hattie, don't like the other two at all.

singarainbow · 26/04/2011 11:52

Love Bryony, was on my wish list but DP didnt like it!

OTTMummA · 26/04/2011 11:54

what about Bridie?
instead of Bryony.

otherwise, definately Hattie

Collision · 26/04/2011 11:55

Hattie is lovely and goes well with your DD's name.

JulieM1976 · 26/04/2011 12:36

Definitely Bryony or Serena for me - though is Hattie short for anything?

CarefulWithThatAxeEugene · 26/04/2011 12:45

I prefer Serena by a mile. Hattie is awful, and I don't like Harriet either.

Ooopsadaisy · 26/04/2011 12:47

Prefer Serena.

Good luck OP!

LadyGoneGaga · 26/04/2011 12:49

I like Hattie but don't like Harriet at all. Don't like Bryony really eitehr. I think Serena or Hattie (but not short for Harriet) are nicest.

HooverTheHamaBeads · 26/04/2011 12:53

I very much like Martha and Hattie, they sound good together.

NadiaWadia · 26/04/2011 13:34

Serena is lovely.

Bryony only OK

Hattie is a nickname not a proper name

oohlaalaa · 26/04/2011 17:56

Prefer the spelling Briony, and like the name. Serena is lovely. I prefer Harriet to Hattie as a full name. I like them all, but Harriet is possibly my favourite.

Justfuckingdoit · 26/04/2011 17:58

Harriet for me too. Every one I have known has been lovely. The others are a bit...meh I'm afraid. Sorry.

Bucharest · 26/04/2011 18:02

Hattie/Harriet is lovely.

Serena is a bit fluffy, and Bryony is very 70s hippy.

pilates · 26/04/2011 18:36

Def Hattie, sounds lovely with Martha

blindmelon · 26/04/2011 19:15

Martha and Bryony sound lovely together. I really don't like Hattie or Harriet sorry - not very feminine and a bit too posh for my taste.

BigSooz · 26/04/2011 19:18

Hattie is lovely. Short for Harriet, though?
