Really strong boys name

Nightstar · 24/04/2011 19:06

I'm looking for a really strong boys name, one that could be a hero in a mills and boon novel. Nothing 'wet' or wimpy or geeky or too 'american' or too 'out there'.

So far I've come up with only

Damien
or
Luke

Any ideas?

WTF? Hercules?

Nightstar · 24/04/2011 19:17

Thank you Knofje, most helpful.

Perhaps I should add, it is for a novel, and not for my baby!

Those names sound a bit drippy not strong at all. Colm was a name in a romance novel I read as a teenager but we had never heard of it before so kept calling him column.

mathanxiety · 24/04/2011 19:20

Patrick
Theodore
Conrad

Luke is ever so drippy. What about... Thor!

I like Torran - sounds tough, rugged, down to earth, with a sensitive side (could be overthinking it, of course!)

ragged · 24/04/2011 19:35

Gosh, I'd put Damien in the wet category myself.
I suggest:
John, Mark, Tom, William, Connor, Robert, Edward, Edgar, Raymond, Michael, Samuel, Bruce...
Maybe list: Lance.

Damien and Luke are a bit softer that you think. I wouldn't call them strong names.

I would go for

Tom
Ivan
Arnie
Mark

cece · 24/04/2011 19:38

or Rex

DuelingFanjo · 24/04/2011 19:39

was going to say Ivan too.

Leo?
Mark
Shane

WMDinthekitchen · 24/04/2011 19:42

Rosebud05 · 24/04/2011 19:49

Spike

Liam

Hector

Max

Shock Damien is the son of the Devil (see The Omen etc)

You could make it Damon ...

Nightstar · 24/04/2011 19:53

Brilliant - I'm having real trouble with this particular character. He isnt the lead male but he needs a strong name (should I add he's the head of a company, and in his early thirties?). I love Torran, but I think not suitable for this chap. Michael is my fav so far, or maybe Adam.

Thanks for help and please keep it coming!

Max or Joe I reckon Smile

dexifehatz · 24/04/2011 20:00

Dexter.

Just look at the names of any of the film characters Bruce Willis has played. He usually plays strong male type roles.
