Hi all,
I am expecting DD3, due in May. We already
Persephone Octavia Harriet (6)
Constance Agatha Edith (3)

Shortlist is:
Patience Evangeline Arabelle
Prudence Evangeline Arabelle
Penelope Evangeline Arabelle

What do you think?

MelinaM · 22/04/2011 09:47

Penelope would be the one for me, do love the name Pru -but not prudenceSmile

ZacharyQuack · 22/04/2011 09:48

Jane.

Never be predictable.

ZacharyQuack · 22/04/2011 09:48

With your choices, she'll be called Pea.

Sequintastic · 22/04/2011 09:52

ZacharyQuack I didn't think about that! But she'll have our surname as well so I don't think she'll be called Pea.

Penelope of those but I actually prefer evangeline As a first name.

Cribbage · 22/04/2011 09:54

Oh I love your DDs names so much! I think Penelope goes nicely.

RatherBeOnThePiste · 22/04/2011 09:55

Well I was coming on to say Geneveive!
Pea is quite cute.

Greenshadow · 22/04/2011 09:55

Patience - love the Puritan names

onEastarEggIGraze · 22/04/2011 10:26

Evangeline as a first name; it's much nicer than the three P names you've listed and won't detract from Persephone, which is lovely.

Whatevs · 22/04/2011 11:35

Penelope is a great name, but quite a similar sound to Persephone. A bit tongue-twisty.

I wouldn't personally give my child a name like Patience, although it is a lovely word. It is just too heavy a name to bear. Imagine a screaming toddler called Patience? Grin

Evangeline is lovely.

Other names that 'go' quite well with Constance and Persephone:

Beatrice
Dorothea or just Thea
Cordelia

Toomanyponies · 22/04/2011 13:15

Beautiful names :)

Prudence for me!

deemented · 22/04/2011 13:18

None of them tbh.

Verity.

Lollypolly · 22/04/2011 13:21

Second vote for Verity (my DD2's name). Of your three, my favourite would be Patience but I'm not wild about any of them. I love love love Persephone though (but not enough to have a DD3 Grin)

Lollypolly · 22/04/2011 13:22

Oh yes, just remembered, it's a pain to have two people with the same first initial in the same house - when mail arrives for "Miss P. Smith" for example, you never know who it's for....

thumbbunny · 22/04/2011 13:25

Iolanthe.
Ariadne (sadly underused)
Calliope
Isadora
Laetitia
Alana
Valeria
Augusta

You can't have Penelope, it's FAAAAARRR too close to Persephone.
Patience is just dismal, as is Prudence, IMO.
Verity is ok but to me is a surname.

Philomena

Prudence reminds me of Gordon Brown...

stealthcat · 22/04/2011 13:34

Evangeline would be nice as a first name.

Ianthe or Xanthe would continue the greek theme.

Gooseberrybushes · 22/04/2011 13:36

I've never understood people who don't mind people in real life knowing who they are, in fact I understand them so little I think you are a made up person with those names.

WildhoodChunder · 22/04/2011 13:37

Or Faith

PorkChopSter · 22/04/2011 13:47

Not two Ps in the family. Evangeline is ok as first name. Having said that, I like Pandora.

Odette
Myrtle
Hermione

flyingspaghettimonster · 23/04/2011 02:58

I'm calling my next girl Evangeline... beautiful name. So you should go with Penelope - or Eurydice?

Lonnie · 23/04/2011 07:48

I really love Prudence always thought it was lovely but dh wouldnt entertain it for our dd's Evangeline is cute but I think it is a up and riser to be honest

happymole · 23/04/2011 08:00

Can i just hijack for a moment and ask......

How is Persephone pronounced? I thought it was Sef-fon-e, is that right?

deemented · 23/04/2011 08:03

Yep, Happymole - Per-sef-fon-e.
