Can't believe I'm doing this.... ok come and judge our name list

I've had some useful comments on another thread so here is our shortlist for baby boy due next month. We have some kind of issue/problem with every name which is why we're not able to choose (I am very fussy I accept this and we both find boy's names v hard) Do your worst

Wyatt
Euan
Seamus
Fraser

For info, we both really like Patrick/Paddy but can't use it as has just been used in the (close) family.

I like Ludovic and Seamus. Fraser and Euan are Ok but not names I'd go for. Not so keen on Wyatt (Earp).

That made me smile Pixie! Fraser is actually authentically a Scottish name (as in, it is Scottish DH's middle name and a family name of several generations) whereas he hates Wyatt as he claims it's "very American and a surname" :D

Wyatt - no
Euan - so so
Seamus - its ok and unlikley to be another 14 in the class
Fraser - i almost like.

Good lord, Pixie, don't add more vowels (we have a vowel-ly surname so lots of vowels one of my issues with Euan, plus the spelling thing, you'd constantly be correcting spelling from Ewan)

Ludovic - really do not like this name at all and do not think it suits baby, child, teenager. A teenager called Ludovic will be crucified at school imvho.

Wyatt - too American - bit chavvy

Euan - bit dull

Seamus - not keen

Fraser - best by a long run! Please go with this and not the others.

I quite like Wyatt. It's funky. Doitdoitdoidoit.

Wyatt is my top choice but DH won't countenance it so realise I will have to give it up. Interested in feedback on it. I appreciate it's a bit leftfield. And slightly American. Only thing that puts me off it really is DH pointing out the comedy in shouting "Quiet Wyatt!"

Am a teacher so names always have double meaning to me. Took me ages to find a name for DS that didn't dredge up 'long buried for sake of sanity' classroom memories. On that note:
Ludovic will mean child is crucified at school
Euan very nice (especially as fancy pants off McGregor mmm...)
Fraser reminds me of very horrible teacher used to work with
Seamus is nice
Wyatt my fave as one of my bestest (not that I have teachers pets) pupils was called this.

Seamus is far and away the best, a great name. Sorry but Wyatt is waaaaaaaay down at the bottom of the list.

Ludovic (presumably shortened to Ludo?) - v much like but I would only feel comfortable using if I had French connections as associate it as a French name
Wyatt - like a lot. Unnusual.
euan - fine non-offensive.
Seamus - the only seamuss I know are in their 40s/50s so to me sounds strange for a baby.
Fraser - quite like. I think of as a Scottish name rather than surname. Not too common but not too odd

Fraser - I like, best of the lot and definitely a proper name.

Thanks everyone! 4 weeks to go but the feedback is really useful, just to "say" it out loud is useful as we keep names secret in real life til the baby arrives.

Achnein French connections - tick (both other dc have French names in fact so it's our only French choice as French boy's names don't often sound great in English pronunciation)

amothersplace hm, this is how I feel sometimes but apparently you can't just call a child "number 3" so we need to find something

Luke, Hugo, Alexander, Mark, Jerome, Albert? All on our French/English list for boys.

Pixie & frakyou - sorry no to all of those. I like Luca(s) but not Luke (plus it's too popular now). Don't like any of the others (Louis Walsh, for example, told you I was fussy ) except Alexander (too popular) and Antoine (doesn't go with surname at all)

DD1 has vetoed Gaston because of Beauty & the Beast ("oh no, he's horrible")

Alfie is too popular and I don't particularly like it and don't even think Alphonse is very nice in French.

Sorry.... I am horribly fussy though.

I've got 2 girls. Another girl would be Sylvie - interested? (my mum is a big Sylvie Vartan fan so I've had this name picked since I was really young)
