What do you think of Morgan rose as a girl's name? It's listed on Mumsnet's Baby Name Finder.

Rose is lovely, but Morgan is hideous, sorrySmile

LineOnTheLeftOneCrossEach · 11/04/2011 22:57

Sounds like a solicitors.

CocktailQueen · 11/04/2011 23:13

I lie it! we only know one Morgan, as well. Lovely name.

NotaMopsa · 11/04/2011 23:41

notanumber · 11/04/2011 23:50

So is she to be known as Morgan-Rose (with or with out the hyphen), or would Rose just be her middle name?

sharbie · 11/04/2011 23:51

imo you have one pretty girly classic name and one modern not so girly name - they don't really go together

MrsShrekTheThird · 12/04/2011 00:11

Estate agent

(sorry)

SkinittingFluffyBunnyBonnets · 12/04/2011 00:14

It's gorgeous...I LOVE Morgan. It sounds ancient and sort of Celtic.

IWouldNotCouldNotWithAGoat · 12/04/2011 04:03

Rose is pretty. Morgan is really horrible.

kreecherlivesupstairs · 12/04/2011 08:54

Rose is lovely, Morgan is a car.

catinboots · 12/04/2011 08:55

awful

ChickensHaveNoEyebrows · 12/04/2011 09:03

I really like Rose, but as a middle name it always makes me think it's part of a narrative, eg 'Morgan rose...to let the cat in'. etc. I might be weird, though.

Bucharest · 12/04/2011 09:12

Horrid.
Rose is the default middle name if you don't have May (but invariably spelt in naff trendy Uneek way)
Rose would be lovely as a first name though.

AlpinePony · 12/04/2011 09:12

She'll have a wedding like Jordan & Peter Andre.

BooBooGlass · 12/04/2011 09:14

Sounds like a cheap wine

ShatnersBassoon · 12/04/2011 09:15

Sounds like a 'designer' perfume, exclusive to Superdrug.

MamaLeMay · 12/04/2011 09:18

I'm not sure Rose goes with Morgan.... I love the name Morgan, but I see it as more of a boys name, as I know a couple of them with this name.

notanumber · 12/04/2011 09:25

I know a Mawgan, which is Cornish - I assume it's a place name (Mawgan Porth) used as a Christian name.

Mawgan seems a bit less.... eighties American sitcom actress?.... than Morgan to me, and therefore nicer. But I am undoubtably a terrible snob possibly a bit picky about these things.

I believe that strictly it's a boys name, but the one I know is female.

BuntyPenfold · 12/04/2011 09:52

I know a female Morgan; her mother says 'I thought she would get more job interviews with a boy's name, then the interviewer will be surprised when a woman walks in.' Hmm

going · 12/04/2011 09:53

I think it's one of the most ugly combination of names I've ever heard.

PfftTheMagicDragon · 12/04/2011 09:54

The two together sound like the pirate wench heroine in a Mills and Boon book.

mollymole · 12/04/2011 09:57

Morgan - Yuk
Rose - Lovely
Togther - Never
