Hmm, I'm due in 9 days and the name we have picked son't appear on my lists. Of course I would put it under handsome!

I know you're not meaning to offend - but perhaps you could have removed the dull and ugly categories. It will be very hurtful for people to read their own or their DCs names in there. Really, would you like it if someone told you your child's name was ugly? Even if they said "Oh, I'm only saying it for a bit of fun".

It's not quite the same as asking "What do you think of this name" though, is it? The OP is specifically asking people to reveal, for no apparently constructive reason, names they think are ugly and boring. I just think that's a mean-spirited thing to do.

I am not at all offended if mine or my DS's name appears on a thread soliciting opinions about a particular name. Can't please everyone.

Asking people to be critical and judgemental is just taking it to another level, that's all.

BTW, I'll read anything I darned well please and if I don't like it, I'll say so. Ok?
