NO Girls Name 2 weeks to go...

Two weeks to go and still no girls name. Have an Isabella. Don't want anything in the top 50 (made that mistake before). Would like something a bit unusual. Have a common traditional surname. Dh is wary of anything too 'hippy' or 'ethinic' but I am more open. I really like Priya/Pria. And yes I do like pretty pretty names.

Aargh!! Why is it sooo hard? Everyone here seems so good at listing lots of names. DH has a list of three and I'm not keen on any of them...

Please help!

Agree with you Sparkingsky - not that keen on your dh's list.

Really hope you find a name you both like.

Hedwig3 · 05/04/2011 12:10

I really like like Sylvie.

kikismum · 05/04/2011 12:38

Like Amalie, not sure on sylvie, reminds me of an old lady i know. You could elaborate on the names he likes and make your own unique name, like Helena=Heleena or Yelana. Thats what i did my dh liked kira shortend to kiki i sugested Kiahna shortened to kiki as its a bit more unusual.

I'm Miriam. My sister is Isobel.

Also, I love Sylvie.

DesertOrchid · 05/04/2011 21:00

I love Sylvie, beautiful name and gorgeous with Isabella. MN doesn't really reflect the actual popularity in real life. Sylvie was ranked 508 in 2009 and there were 79 of them. Really not a lot!

DesertOrchid · 05/04/2011 21:00

That's compared to 2607 Isabellas...

Isabella & Florence / Isabella and Beatrice / Isabella and Matilda / Isabella and Ophelia / Isabella and Rose / Isabella and Clementine

pinski1971 · 06/04/2011 14:18

We considered Bathsheba and Cordelia. Shades of Brideshead Revisited and classy, but not yawny 'Boden' mummy wannabe middle class alpha mummy. (Wooo hoooo, look at the chips on my shoulder LOL!!!)
Good luck - we have two boys and one girl, we're both teachers and found it incredibly difficult to find a girls name that we could both agree on - and believe me, I have some bizarre and revolting names on my class registers. Good luck again...
