I'm done with all that puking, piling on the pounds and pushing business. Really, I'm done (or so DH thinks, mwahahahahaha Grin)

So why do I obsessively read the baby name board? I have no bloody idea.

Am I a lone loon or are there any more of you reading who are not pregnant and will never be pregnant again?

TheVisitor · 04/04/2011 16:09

I read some of the ones on the active threads and comment, but I'm not obsessive about it. Grin

BlessedAssurance · 04/04/2011 16:10

of course!!:o

MmeLindt · 04/04/2011 16:11

Same as Visitor.

It is our responsibility as non-hormonal non-pregnant women to save the poor unborn children from the mistakes of their mothers.

Tuschinski · 04/04/2011 16:12

I actually love reading and talking about baby names - so long as I'm not pregnant!
I find the subject really stressful when the pressure is on to pick one and tend to draw a total blank.
I only joined this forum as I heard there was a very active babby names section and I'd never, ever have picked DS's name if it wasn't for you all so I think I owe it to other members to stay around!

BlessedAssurance · 04/04/2011 16:12

i meant to say i read the baby names board, pregnant or not,

notanumber · 04/04/2011 16:14

Yes, you're right MmeLindt! We're perfoming a service. (I seriously considered calling DS Oak when he was in utero. I thought it was a beautiful English nature type name - I mean, if you can have Heather and Daisy etc...)

im a nanny with no desire to have children ever. i do however love baby names and have named the children i will never have lol. i like to hear about other names too so come on here a lot. if the thread is short enough i will also give my opinion, to help hormonal people who think the word bucket or sausage will make lovely names for their babies:)

ColonelBrandonsBiggestGroupie · 04/04/2011 19:22

I admit it - my name is CBBG and I am a name addict. I love the sound of words and love reading, so names fit in with that I guess. I like it when a name just seems to flow so nicely together that it could have been a book character!

JayMe · 04/04/2011 19:23

I love BN. There's a happiness about it that is a respite from some of the other Topics. I always suggest the same names and often notice the same people doing the same.

Patrick, anyone?

I love the baby names section. I sit around mentally naming my future (non-existent) baby all sorts of things, which is kind of funny because I am too knackered to have another. Ever. And I've only just shifted the weight from the last one.

I long to name a Mumsnet baby...

haudyerwheesht · 04/04/2011 19:33

I have a 4yr old and a 6m old and dh has said no more :( I will always look in here though especially as it is how we got dd's name, we had never heard of it before but now we have a little one with that name!

ilovesprouts · 04/04/2011 19:43

i read them all but, not having any more !

ragged · 04/04/2011 19:44

I like getting to be brutally blunt about names I love & loathe. Grin

TeddyMcardle · 04/04/2011 19:46

Blush you caught me...

Babynames is what drew me to mumsnet this time last year when pregnant with DD2. And it definitely helped me decide her name, so can't help popping back for a nostalgia trip sometimes Smile

Am also guilty of always suggesting the same names, especially the DDs names, and my imaginary boy names!

It's my way of fuelling my broodiness for MORE CHILDREN (crazed hormonal non-pregnant and not allowed to have more dc woman).

Suncottage · 04/04/2011 20:48

I love the baby name section and would love to know I have suggested a name that was used.

Anyone used:

Katherine
Charlotte
Sebastion
Persephone
Tanith

BTW they were all names I suggested when a MN was looking for a 'type' of name.

I have my own 'secret' names. Smile

GibberingGinger · 04/04/2011 21:26

I love the baby names threads. I don't often post, but I love seeing the trends and secretly look out for my kids names to see peoples opinions on them

Lockers
Don't take offense. I was being silly.

Although I am not sure you want to take the hormone excuse away from NotaNumber. Oak, FFS.
