Owen or Max for a boy

We are discussing names for ds 2. DS1 is Thomas and we tend to go for classic names. We are considering Owen or Max. What do you think?

I don't like Owen, but I like Maximilan, shortened to Max/Maxi.

Max, definitrly. A much nicer name than Owen and works much better with Thomas than Owen too, IMHO.

What will it be short for? Maxwell? Maximus? Maximillian?

I dislike Owen. Max is ok, a little 'trendy' especially compared to Thomas (which feels more classic). I'd put Maximilian on the bc.

Maximilian or Maximuns are great. Although both are less 'classic' than Thomas imo.

We were actually thinking of Maxim.

Maxim and Maxwell are fine, Max is fine, Maximus is not fine unless you are a Roman Gladiator.

Max will always be a dog's name to me too. Owen is nice.

Who suggested Max? My dh was desperate for Max if we have a boy, then told me why and it got vetoed straight away, make sure there isn't an ulterior motive!

Max is not a dogs name. Maxim, however is a lads mag.

I love the name Owen - DS1 is called owen and he's gorgeous :o

my DS is Maximilian Owen! Max for short, middle name is Owen after his great grandfather as Max was born on his birthday.
