Pippa, Joni, Leah or Natasha?

DH loves Leah and Natasha. I quite like them but love Pippa and/or Joni.

Our surname is Friedmann.

Thanks so much for any opinions or other suggestions!

Leah.

mamaloco · 24/01/2011 11:05

How do you pronounce leah (lee? or lay-A?)?
natasha friedmann is the best sounding, and will allow a lot of nicknames if she doesn't like it.

HarderToKidnap · 24/01/2011 11:10

Lay-a, but prepared for the rest of the world to pronounce it Lee-ah!

Leah is nice then but I think I still prefer natasha with friedmann.

Highlandgirl · 24/01/2011 11:32

Pippa by far....it's an AMAZING name..Grin Grin

geisha · 24/01/2011 11:33

Love Natasha. Like Pippa too.

VivaLeBeaver · 24/01/2011 11:37

I would say Phillipa with nm Pippa. Then as she gets older she can choose to be the full name or not.

TallulahDoesTheHula · 24/01/2011 11:38

Love Pippa, like Natasha.
Dont use Leah if you are not going to say it Lee-ah
Spell it differently if you want a different way of saying it as EVERYONE will call her Lee-ah otherwise!

HarderToKidnap · 24/01/2011 11:40

Technically though, it is actually pronounced Lay-a. I do see your point but I don't want to call my daughter Leia!

jonicomelately · 24/01/2011 11:40

I like Joni Grin

kreecherlivesupstairs · 24/01/2011 13:12

I don't like Joni, nor do I like Natasha or Leah. Looks like you have to call her Phillipa and use Pippa as a NN.

Hedwig3 · 24/01/2011 13:15

I like Pippa and Joni.

NadiaWadia · 24/01/2011 13:25

Natasha and Leah are gorgeous names. Pippa and Joni, thoug cute, are a little bit twee, especially for a grown woman. IMHO

serendipity16 · 24/01/2011 13:42

Pippa.

Love that name & if i ever have another girl i'll be calling her Pippa.

MelinaM · 24/01/2011 13:49

I'd go with Natasha, classic! x

HelenaRose · 24/01/2011 14:09

I like Leia Friedmann; it's pretty. I'd spell it like that, though - Leah is Lee-ah to me.

Rhubarbgarden · 24/01/2011 16:20

All nice names but Pippa is my favourite. It would have been on my shortlist but it sounds ridiculous with our surname.

mathanxiety · 24/01/2011 16:23

Leah, Natasha (or Natalia) and Joni are fab. Pippa is nice for a child up to age 10 but Philippa is nicer from then on.

Overall, I like Natasha/ Natalia and Joni best.

perpetuallypregnant · 24/01/2011 16:24

Natasha and pippa are both lovely. They go nicely with surname too.

Not keen on joni or Leah sorry.

jonicomelately · 24/01/2011 16:25

I don't like Leah. A bit 80's.
I don't like Pippa. Too pony club.

MrsDeidreIppy · 24/01/2011 16:36

Surely Leah is pronounced Lee-ah I've never heard it pronounced otherwise. Joni is nice unusual but maybe too unusual. Not keen on Pippa or Philipa and think Natasha is a bit dated.

Raahh · 24/01/2011 17:40

Pippa (Philippa) definitely (dd2 is 4 months old, so bit biased).

Don't like Joni much, but prob because too close to my own name ( which I REALLY dislike)
Natasha is ok, but I agree sounds dated
Really not a fan of Leah (either pronunciation), there are a lot of them around though.

PlanetLizard · 24/01/2011 17:52

Pippa - like as nickname for Philippa
Joni - not keen
Leah - like if pronounced Lee-ah, but not Laya.
Natasha - like :)
