My 4 week daughter still nameless

My daughter is 4 weeks today and she still has no name Shock I look at her and try different names on her but none seem right.

Her daddy passed away 4 months ago and I wanted to name her after him in someway. His name was Ben (Benjamin David) and there arent any girls versions of that name! I don't want just initials (so like Bella) because I want it to be obvious that she is named after him. Any suggestions please??

Bella is really nice!

I cannot think of many names with B, just Beatrice, Bernadette, Bernice and Bethany So far I think Bella is nicer.

Vith D I can only think of Danielle or Davina (sounds a bit more like David maybe)

Or you could use Benjamin as a second middle name. That can work.

Had you spoken about possible names with your dp?

hi i am so sorry to hear that her daddy isnt here to see her.
without wanting to upset you is it really a good idea to name her after her daddy, if you havent been able to think of anything yet the chances are you wont.

what did he want to call her, did you discuss it.
it would be lovely to tell her when she is older that daddy chose it Smile

I cannot begin to imagine how hard it is to choose a name in your circumstances.

You've probably found most of the possibles, but how about:

Benedicta, Benedictine, Benita?

Davita, Davinia, Davina, Davida?

Benjamina and Benyamina are names. How about Mina, or Yamina?

There seems to be a girls form of Benjamin, which is Benjamina and that can be pronounced as Benjameena or Benyameena. Or maybe Bennah which is a Hebrew name meaning wisdom? Also how about Beneciah, Benitah or Bente?

I Agree with Pixie! Benjamina is lovely, and Minna and Minnie are both really sweet nicknames.

You could also have Jemima, which is similar, but not identical to Benjamin.

Otherwise I agree with choosing a first name which you and your DH both loved, and then giving Benjamin and your DH's middle names for your DD's middle names.

Sorry for your loss. What about Yasmin? Has the 'min' from Benjamin and you could call her Minnie for nn?

Jemima isn't a version of Ben, but it has something of Benjamim in there.

Or, How about putting Benedict as a middle name?

Mina
Benet (pronounced Ben-ay)

or Davina sounds a bit like David?

Or is there a special place/song/name that meant something to you and your duaghter's daddy whilst you were pregnant? Perhaps you could use that?

Suggestions for girls names;
Benedicta
Benjamina
or what about initials spelling Ben? Like
Bella Elizabeth Naomi

or something like that.

So sorry that your Dd's Daddy has passed away. You must be a very strong woman.

My Dd had no name for 3 weeks and in the end, I got lots of small pieces of paper with individual possibilities written on them and moved them around until I came up with a combination that I liked and went together.
Did your late partner have any favourite names that he fancied naming a baby girl?

I hope you find something that you are happy with soon.
