Going to have DD5!

Just found out that I am going to have a fifth DD and feeling a bit lost about names...

I was certain I was going to have a DS and we had decided on Clement Sherlock Nathaniel with Clem as a nn.... (I am into literature in a big way so couldn't resist slipping Sherlock in there somewhere)

Our DDs are called Louisa Sian Mathilde, Emmeline Cerys Isolde, Julia Estella Adele and Beatrix Evangeline Grace.

Please come up with some suggestions because I can't think of any other names I like!

Clementine? Smile

FiveGirliesArgh · 05/01/2011 21:09

I would go for it but according to DH it is "the name of an orange and not a baby"??

Every other pregnancy we've just known...

Ooh love the suggestions so far!

Especially Rosalind, Nina, Margot, Francesca and Flora!

However our surname starts with an F so am wary of the alliteration...

My DH is welsh so any welsh suggestions would be welcome, also like names to have some sort of meaning iyswim?

Each of our DDs is named after someone we admire (May Alcott, Pankhurst, Morgan and Potter respectively) so if anyone knows of any strong female role models with nice names??

Aphra after Aphra Behn? Amazing woman.

Edith Cavell, Florence Nightingale, Eleanor Roosevelt, Amelia Earhart, Frida Kahlo???

FiveGirliesArgh · 05/01/2011 21:38

Ooh Aphra is lovely and I vaguely remember learning about Aphra Behn at uni and have just looked her up again - agree amazing woman.

Louisa, Emmeline, Julia, Beatrix and Aphra has quite a nice ring about it I think...

Could you get away with Affie as a nn?

pickleplusone · 05/01/2011 21:46

I just want to note how lovely it is that you named your first child after Louisa May Alcott and went on to have a house full of little women :) That is fantastic, but now you'll have the March sisters beaten by one.

Janoschi · 05/01/2011 23:20

Rosa after Rosa Parks, the girl on the bus who triggered the civil rights marches? Also Rosa Luxemburg, the German political activist?

Harper Lee's first name is actually Nelle, which is also rather pretty....

Edith after Edith (E.) Nesbit, the writer and political activist?

Rosa after Rosa Parks. I meant to use it as one of DD's middle names but forgot.

Meglet · 06/01/2011 00:13

X-posted with janoschi. (Didn't read whole thread).

Janoschi · 06/01/2011 01:11

Looks like Rosa then! Grin
