I like it. It's my auntie's name and I think it's a really pretty name. She's NOT scottish or a red head though! English bruinette but it works for her. GO FOR IT!

TheBibiJesus · 04/01/2011 23:15

I love it. My nurse when I was in hosp with dts was called Bonnie and she was an absolute delight :)

mathanxiety · 05/01/2011 15:23

I think it's lovely. It has an old fashioned vibe and also plenty of zip.

misfitmum · 05/01/2011 17:23

I went to primary school with two sisters: Mandy and Bonnie - I always loved their names and never once thought they were strange/different - you just accept it and people will, use the name you love!

NewYearNewPants · 05/01/2011 17:36

I really like it. Also love Bonita.

veryberry21 · 05/01/2011 19:24

perpetuallypregnant · 05/01/2011 19:32

I think it's lovely. Not too popular either so she will not be one of 10 but not so unusual that she will get hmm faces (can't find square brackets on iPad)

:)

NeverlandOfFun · 05/01/2011 20:24

Love it.

A1980 · 06/01/2011 00:30

brockleyD · 07/01/2011 17:34

Greeninkmama · 07/01/2011 18:05

I like Bonnie - it is pretty. If you love a name, and your DP does too, then you should go for it.

Jackandbonnie · 20/08/2017 16:49

I really like the name Bonnie. I did for a while have Bonnie Blue on my list as a nice double barrel.

Roseandbee · 25/08/2017 12:26

FizzyGreenWater · 25/08/2017 21:00

Really nice, go for it OP

DramaAlpaca · 25/08/2017 21:28

OP's child will be at school by now, so I'm sure she's decided on a name.

beaglesarethebest · 25/08/2017 21:46

Adore it, gorgeous name!

TheEternalForever · 25/08/2017 23:07

Bonnie is sweet. You should name her something you like, not something to satisfy those who turn their noses up. They'll never like anything you say anyway. It always seems harder to choose a name when you share your list with the people you know because obviously everyone has an opinion and some people are very vocal/seem to think you should put far more stock in theirs than you really need to.

TeeBee · 25/08/2017 23:09

I think it's super cute.

grufallosfriend · 26/08/2017 07:46

That's actually my first name I'm 4th generation male. Just expect some bloody noses and some busted knuckles. It's like the Johnny Cash song Boy Named Sue

Scottyme · 01/03/2024 09:43

I had a manager called Bonnie. Her name did not suit her, she was a strong determined woman and nothing like a Bonnie and tbh I think she could have got so much further in the company if she had a different name as many clients who asked to speak with the manager when you said I'll just get Bonnie said no I asked to speak with the manager.

Every Bronwen I know is Bronnie.

Not sure what a 4th generation male is, but this thread is thirteen years old. Why did you revive it just to announce your name?

xkatyx · 29/06/2024 22:03

Hi, i am the original poster, i did indeed call her bonnie, she is now 13 years old and she definitely lives up to her name.

We dont know any other bonnies either, i am very glad we picked it, she loves it and we still do too, she gets called bon bon most of the time
