Not due till April - so in no rush.

Just wondered what people might think of girl's name Hester ...

Not keen. Is this not a boy's name?

DioneTheDiabolist · 16/12/2010 00:07

Although I may be thinking of Heston.

Ha ha ha ha!

My thoughts exactly. Hester is awful. It never ceases to amaze me how people want to ngive a beautiful new born girl an ugly granny name.

BaronessBomburst · 16/12/2010 00:13

Beautiful name. If you like it, go with it.

I'm afraid it makes me think of Hester the Molester. But you'd probably need to be a John Irving fan for that to be an issue.

HonestyBox · 16/12/2010 06:38

Love it.

littlehedgehog · 16/12/2010 06:45

Don't like it

tinselthechaffinch · 16/12/2010 07:12

Like it, but like Hesper even better.

AllieW · 16/12/2010 09:52

It's ok (and def a girl's name - Biblical I think). As for others, I do tend to prefer Esther, though.

LetThereBeRock · 16/12/2010 10:27

It's awful. Esther is much nicer.

DandyDan · 16/12/2010 10:49

Hester - fantastic: The Scarlet Letter and even better, Hester from the Mortal Engines series by Philip Reeve - a really brilliant and unusual heroine.
