Obadiah, Jeremiah, Cedric, Morris, Woodrow for boys

Girls names we pretty much agree on.

thisisyesterday · 12/12/2010 09:36

girls:
Mavis, Frances, Rainbow, Cecily

boys:
Otto, Tobias, Josiah, Richey

there were actually tons more, but they're the ones that I remember atm!

spidookly · 12/12/2010 09:41

Marianne

BelligerentGhoul · 12/12/2010 09:47

Oh Marianne is lovely - in fact dp has agreed that if we ever have baby number 3 (which we won't) she can be Marianne!

Boys' names we sorted immediately.

Girls names we just COULDN"T agree on and both ended up as massive compromises.

Names I wanted and he didn't included:
Eloise
Alice
Harriet
Posey

Girls: Lola - because shes a showgirl.....

thereisalightanditnevergoesout · 12/12/2010 10:08

Pretty much anything I like is vetoed by DH.

Though he surprises me sometimes and suggests things like 'Posy' which I love and wouldn't imagine he would in million years. Not that it's relevant - as we're having a boy.

I like the following:

Rufus
Lucien
Bendedict
Leo
Caspar

He's not keen, but did 'helpfully' suggest Graham Hmm.

Dismal old DH.

ShanahansRevenge · 12/12/2010 11:08

Clothilde
wilhemina
Veronica

Still pine for my wee Agatha Sad

thereisalightanditnevergoesout · 12/12/2010 11:57

That's nothing ShanahansRevenge, before we knew that DC3 was a boy, he actually suggested 'Yvonne'. And there was no hint of irony.

Iwasthefourthwiseman · 12/12/2010 18:09

Wow, all these DPs just have no taste do they?Xmas Grin

Love Otis, Ottilie and Sout.

DH also vetoed Camille and Celia

OP posts:
DaisySteiner · 12/12/2010 18:10

Lettice

cece · 12/12/2010 18:12

Sidney for DS1. I am still Sad about it.

Other boys names I loved but DH vetoed.

Wesley
Spencer
Lisle/Lyle
Gregory

Girls, I rather liked Ottilie but he wouldn't hear of it.

Having said that though I also vetoed some of his ideas....

Fourleaf · 12/12/2010 18:20

Jonah
Osian
Rowan (sob!)

He likes simple, masculine boys names (quite common for Dads perhaps?), but would approve of most of my eccentric, flowery girl names...

We had a boy and luckily found a simple name we both liked :)

spidookly · 12/12/2010 18:28

On the contrary Iwas - this thread suggests that men are the only thing standing in the way of their children being given some godawful names :o

SantasKnickersOnMyHead · 12/12/2010 18:30

Damien. Actually, I was quite intent of calling him Damien.....and the he was born on the 31st Oct Hmm

reup · 12/12/2010 18:35

Seth. He said it reminded him of cess Pitt. Also jared

smoggii · 12/12/2010 18:38
