Hi ladies

Just mentioned that I was considering this name on another thread and was wondered what your opinions were on this name Hmm

I love Serena, Felicity and Annabel. Your pronunciation of Serena wouldn't have occurred to me, though, and I'd imagine you'd get a lot of people calling her "Se-REEN-ah".

DH and I both like the name Serena but felt we couldn't use it for our girls as, whilst we think serenity is the most wonderful quality, it's one that is missing entirely from our gene pool.

Awful. You should google it in Greek mythology. Would you really want to name your child that?

Thanks Mrs Pickles...I adore the name Seren but I am worried that the name sounds too odd alongside my DS whose Ben (not Benjamin)

Ben and Seren

I prefer to pronounce the name as 'Seren' but with an 'a' on the end so that it would be..Ser-e-nah
Ben and Serena.

I know people would pronounce it Se-ree-na, so I was thinking of adding an extra 'n' in there (I am not a particular fan of changing the spelling of a name madbut just trying to find a solution). So it would look like Serenna - does this look too strange???? Hmm

Any other ideas?

I think it's quite nice. I have a friend called Serena and she really likes her name! Here it's not prn Ser-ee-na but more like Se-ray-na.

I do think Serenna looks weird and in your case I would just go for Seren (nice name)

It's a lovely name. Classy. I think you can pronounce it either way, but the traditional spelling looks nicer.

I don´t dislike it but much prefer Felicity.

I love the name Serena, probably wouldn't use it myself as it sounds a bit too close to my first name, but really like it otherwise.

Quite like Serenity as well, though it's more unusual as a name.
