Why all the excitement about what David Cameron would call their baby but not what Ed Miliband's will be? I am dying to find out...

Any suggestions. I reckon Jacob.

Their DS1 is Daniel. I reckon Thomas.

telsa · 08/11/2010 12:25

Ralph? Or Benjamin.

Faaamily · 08/11/2010 12:26

Benjamin, Sebastian, Jonathan, Joseph, Jacob, Isaac.

That's my list! If I had to narrow it down I'd go with Isaac.

Hassled · 08/11/2010 12:30

I didn't even know there was a new Miliband on its way - clueless.

CuppaTeaJanice · 08/11/2010 12:35

Ooh are we having a competition? I won the last one - Mumsnet Towers sent me some lovely books for DS!

I reckon James. James David, as a peace offering to his brother!

yellowflowers · 08/11/2010 12:36

He was born this morning. I guess Sam Cam is a bit of a celeb in her own right now - whereas most people couldn't name Ed Miliband's partner.

Esther or Caleb

Do we know it is a boy?

thereisalightanditnevergoesout · 08/11/2010 12:55

It is a boy here

My vote goes for Joseph.

gherkinwithapurplemerkin · 08/11/2010 12:56

Don't care. I wonder whether his father will be named on his certificate this time?

I agree with middle name David

gherkinwithapurplemerkin · 08/11/2010 12:57

Looking at these names here - are they very trad Jewish?

gherkin I saw in the paper he was going to make sure he went to register the new baby and put himself on Daniel's birth certificate at the same time.

MaMoTTaT · 08/11/2010 13:00

never mind politics - he can make himself a fortune as a medical miracle the fact that he's had a baby Grin

ShadeofViolet · 08/11/2010 13:03

Christopher or Alexander.

staranise · 08/11/2010 13:05

Aren't David Miliband's children called Jacob and Isaac? I reckon Joseph.

daisyj · 08/11/2010 13:16

Unlikely to be named after his brother, unless he goes again Jewish tradition which dictates that a child may not be named after a living relative - but maybe Ralph for middle name. I reckon Benjamin/Joseph/Jonathan (but I like Caleb, tummytickler so I'll go for that as an outside guess).

zachsmama · 08/11/2010 13:22

I think Benjamin Joseph.

yellowflowers · 08/11/2010 13:25

Ah didn't know that about David Miliband's children. Maybe Joseph then - I love that name. I think Christiopher uinlikely - a bit too 'unjewish' however much Ed Miliband doesn't practise.

I'd go for Saul but think he turned out naughty in OT? So not that, maybe Noah?

5inthebed · 08/11/2010 13:30

Joshua or Aaron

loonies · 08/11/2010 13:35

David Miliband's children are Isaac and Jacob. What about Reuban?

elkiedee · 08/11/2010 13:38

Of course his partner might choose the name! My DS1 is Daniel but he's named after a relative, but if we were Jewish there's already a living Daniel in my generation so that would be out. DS2's name is chosen as being obviously Irish but not one which he will be tormented with people misspelling or mispronouncing.

SkippyjonJones · 08/11/2010 13:38

Is it a boy ? If not Millie would be good.
