Once again we are still unsure about which name to choose. We have now decided on either:

Charis (rhymes with Paris)

or

Tamsin

Please could you say which name you think is nicest. Our DD1 is called Valentina so bear that in mind too.
Thanks so much and this IS the last time I am going to ask for advice as I am SURE we can narrow it down to one after this!

Charis but is that the correct spelling?Confused

DamselInDisgrace · 04/11/2010 19:53

I prefer Charis, but she may fall foul of those who are angered by names they can't sound out using standard English phonics.

Lexx · 04/11/2010 19:54

Yes, it's the Greek name Charis meaning "grace" rather than than the Welsh name Carys meaning "love".

Do you say it 'Caris' as in cat or Ch-aris as in child?

It reminds me of a story from classical mythology...can't remember though.

I really like Valentina but don't really particularly go for either of the others - sorry!

KenDoddsDadsDogHatesFireworks · 04/11/2010 19:54

Charis

Deemented · 04/11/2010 19:54

Much prefer Tamsin.

Ineedsomesleep · 04/11/2010 19:54

Like Charis but much prefer Carys.

Constance39 · 04/11/2010 19:55

I don't think it is a very beautiful name, written or said out loud. Valentina is stunning.

You need something to match Smile

Lexx · 04/11/2010 19:56

I know it's hard as we obviously love Valentina and want a name that is just as pretty but don't want another Italian sounding name (as neither of us are Italian). Any other suggestions??? Love Rafaela too but than would be too OTT.

Lexx · 04/11/2010 20:00

See all these years I longed for a girl I could give a cool name to, there are hundreds of great girl names. I guess that makes it harder!

Ok I will hand you my favourites:

and Beatrice

I shan't be upset if you reject them! Grin
