It's OK, a bit too simple.

BosomForAPillow · 30/10/2010 22:03

I really like the name Nina.

The only thing that puts me off it is when my toddler hears a siren/sees a police car she calls it a nee-nor which sounds a bit like Nina.

pissedrightoff · 30/10/2010 22:06

Ah the 'nee-naw' effect.
Also wondering if 'Nina and the nuerons' will still be on the go.

Makes me think of late 80s/early 90s teenage girls with perms, frosted makeup and big hoop earrings for some reason.

pissedrightoff · 30/10/2010 22:10

Leroy same here, at the moment. But will this be the case three years on?

makes me either think of Nina and the Nuerons, Nee-naw nee-naw fire engine style, a nanny goat or a Nana/ Not keen to be honest, sorry.

zozzle · 30/10/2010 22:39

Like it.

Mitchymum · 30/10/2010 22:57

Too plain and not really that nice. Sorry.

Montifer · 30/10/2010 23:00

I really like Nina (sadly it's one of the many names that DP has vetoed for our DC2 due in a couple of weeks)

AnnaAndBump · 31/10/2010 06:52

Our DD (11 weeks) is named Nina and we love the name, so has everyone we have told, even all of the midwives and health visitors we have met love it as they say it's so nice to have a break from the Lily,Scarlett,Grace etc's

I love the name Nina!

lilly13 · 31/10/2010 19:13

It is beautiful

bundlebelly · 31/10/2010 19:21

There is an old ABBA song about 'Nina, pretty baller-ina, now she is the queen of the dancing floor, this is the moment she's waiting for, just like cinder-rella, just like cinder-rella!' Thats what it reminds me of anyway. I like it!

nulgirl · 31/10/2010 19:27

Love it. Nice to hear something simple yet unusual. Would be on my list if we ever went for no3

pissedrightoff · 31/10/2010 19:53

Thanks all.Nina is number one contender now.

Nux · 31/10/2010 20:19

I like it

EsioTrot · 31/10/2010 20:24

I think it's a lovely name, really like it.

GRW · 31/10/2010 20:32

I love it, and it's unusual so she's unlikely to meet another of the same age.

Avocadoes · 31/10/2010 20:38

We have a Nina. I wanted a simple short name that was not too common and worked in several languages. People seem to either love or hate this name. The majority of people say they love it and think its pretty but unusual. But a few (incl my MiL) have been really negative.

No child has ever used the siren joke on DD2. I only hear it from people of our generation.

And remember, a very tiny percent of the population have ever seen Nina and the Neurons. And an even smaller percentage will remember it in a few years. Not that a mind Nina and the Neurons...

Plonkargghhh · 31/10/2010 20:45

Gorgeous and a lovely change Smile

proudfoot · 31/10/2010 20:54

Gorgeous name, simple but really pretty and you don't hear it too often.

pintyblud · 31/10/2010 21:05

lucasnorth · 31/10/2010 21:08
