Love Augusta!!! Great name and so not overused.Smile

muttimalzwei · 17/10/2010 21:07

No bit too manly and posh for me, sorry.

JaynieB · 17/10/2010 21:07

Really unusual - very 'impressive' sounding name. I like it.

KERALA1 · 17/10/2010 21:11

I love it! Have suggested it to a few pregnant with girls friends and every time have got a Hmm so dont think it has widespread appeal...

Minione · 17/10/2010 21:38

I like it too! Think its lovely, very strong and regal. However, both DH and my mum gave me a Hmm when I suggested it so I assume its a bit of a marmite name!

Avocadoes · 17/10/2010 21:41

I would like it, except I keep thinking of Augustus Gloop, which puts me off it a bit. Other than that association I think its a good strong name.

I also like Annunciator and Aurora.

You are expecting an EIGHTH child? My God. Hats off to you.

NothereisnobodylurkingbehindU · 17/10/2010 22:07

Augusta would fit but if she's your eigth you should have Octavia!

NothereisnobodylurkingbehindU · 17/10/2010 22:08

I really like Octavia btw!

smilingserenely · 17/10/2010 22:08

unfortunately dh vetoed octavia

NothereisnobodylurkingbehindU · 17/10/2010 22:09

He's v WRONG Grin

smilingserenely · 17/10/2010 22:14

i know he's wrong but he keeps saying skoda and won't see sense

NothereisnobodylurkingbehindU · 17/10/2010 22:22

Why does he want to call her Skoda?

Leave him!

ja9 · 17/10/2010 22:23

yup, augusta... sister of augustus... gloop.
sorry.

NothereisnobodylurkingbehindU · 17/10/2010 22:24

I tell you what though - if I'd gone through the sheer hell that would be 8 pregnancies and my dh didn't let me have my way over the name, well - they'd be trouble in the marital next - that's all I'm saying! Grin

NothereisnobodylurkingbehindU · 17/10/2010 22:24

'next'? NEST I meant Blush

LetThereBeRock · 17/10/2010 22:28

I love Augusta. And August is the eighth month.

brittan76 · 17/10/2010 23:01

I'm confused as there is another thread on here that says you had your eigth in April?

Augusta is a bit too posh for my tastes but not terrible.

OkayGrrl · 17/10/2010 23:10

Love Augusta, would love to use it if I ever had a daughter but doubt I'd have the guts.

I like Augustus and Augustine for boys too, was going to use Augustine but got vetoed and mocked.

merry1 · 17/10/2010 23:27

Felicity Arabella Matilda Wink

smilingserenely · 17/10/2010 23:34

yes named her felicity as it was the only name dh liked and i was railroaded into a decision but he promised that if i still loathed the name felicity when she was 6 months old we could change her birth cert .
6 months on i still hate the name felicity and cringe when i hear it .after months of refusing to consider any other name
dh suddenly mentioned this as a name he likes and also like it and it's growing on me
