Is this always a mistake? I fear it maybe! :)? Can it ever work or be got away with?

For example, Scarlet Jam or similar...Hmm not a good example. Not necessarily that the surname is a noun but the names could be seen to run into each other to make a word?

Don't! My initials+surname spelled a boys name. All of the email addresses I was assigned at school/uni were in the format initials +surname, so I was forever being asked why ny email was a boys name when everyone else had their initials and surname. Drove me crazy. Plus which, before thatat primary school my parents insisted on naming all my stuff with initials and surname and when the other kds realised... = not fun
