Beatrix Esther! That is a beautiful combination.

Isabella is a quite popular. Florence is quite harsh, and flo and florrie are awful. Flora is lovely though.

Esther is lovely, dignified, stylish. I like the style but I don't know if I would use it for a fn. It makes a perfect mn though.

felicity is not my style. What do you shorten it to? Fliss, flick? liss? All unattractive imo.

Beatrice is nicer than Florence but it still ends in esssssss, which is a bit hissy or something. Beatrix is so much nicer.

Beatrix Esther is an excellent name

Thanks again VS - all your feedback is really appreciated. Somebody mentioned Felicity to me the other day and it got me thinking but like you, I am not so keen on the nn's that come with it. Thanks for your time, i know you gave me some feedback on a previous thread.

Isabella

Isabella- It's so popular. I know it's lovely, but honestly you hear it now and you think 'not another one fgs'
Florence- Pretty but very now and the nicknames aren't brilliant
Esther- Just beautiful
Beatrice or Beatrix- my dd's mn is Beatrice but I do love Beatrix too
Felicity- the meaning is nicer than the name and again the nicknames are awful

Beatrix Esther is beautiful. They go well together and Bea and Trixie are sweet for a little girl.

emmyloo2 · 24/08/2010 16:45

Isabella - very very popular, and agreed with Namedaftertheband - I hear it and think, "Of course your baby girl is called Isabella, sigh."

Florence - love this. Very now though.
Esther - like this.
Beatrix/Beatrice - adore these names. Was on our list for a girl

Felicity - bit to 70s for me

morganlebuffay · 24/08/2010 16:59

Esther, by far

Jamieandhismagictorch · 24/08/2010 18:07

Esther

HarderToKidnap · 24/08/2010 18:17

Esther and Beatrice.

SoupDragon · 24/08/2010 18:19

I really don't like Beatrix, Florence or Felicity

Wheelybug · 24/08/2010 18:20

Esther Florence

I wanted Esther for DD2 but I have a slight lisp and can't say it properly. DD2's middle name is Florence.

Isabella is nice but a bit too popular for me. I like Beatrice/Beatrix but not keen on Felicity.

collision · 24/08/2010 18:21

Beatrix Esther is lovely.

theagedparent · 24/08/2010 18:24

Esther

proudfoot · 24/08/2010 20:53

Isabella is the prettiest IMO. Also really like Beatrice so would go with that if too worried about popularity.

All are fine though!

Roz14 · 24/08/2010 21:44

Hi all - thankyou so much for your opinions. Keep them coming and I will hopefull start to become a little bit more confident with my decision on the day.

SirBoobAlot · 24/08/2010 21:45

Beatrice.

morgan55 · 24/08/2010 22:37

definitely esther

ohfuschia · 25/08/2010 00:54

Esther

EmmaRoyd · 25/08/2010 01:05

Might have been me that mentioned Felicity the other day (I'm due tomorrow), so I like it but yes, 'flick' isn't a particularly attractive nn I agree. Then again, neither is 'Flo'. I love Beatrice, can't use it myself as its my god daughter's name and I also love Esther. Less keen on Isabella but probably because its more popular.

AT1137 · 25/08/2010 04:47

Beatrice or Esther.

ilovesprouts · 25/08/2010 05:22

Isabella is lovely ,but heard on the news the camerons like that too !

Roz14 · 25/08/2010 08:49

EmmaRoyd - Im too due tomorrow. Are you getting any signs of your baby coming soon? I have been getting the odd aches and pains but nothing has come of them.

Just checked a previous thread and it was you who brought the name back into the spotlight for me. I like the name because although not directly linked, it has a similar sound to by grandmas first name which was Phyllis. I didn't want to use Phyllis but was thinking along the lines of Felicity or Felicia, as they had a similar sound when spoken. It is just the NN's though that are holding me back. The same goes for Florence, although I really love the name.

ilovesprouts - ooh, are the camerons coming close to choosing a name then? I think we may well keep Isabella as a middle name due to it's increasing popularity but still really love it. I suppose there is always Anabelle as an alternative Smile

Do you think??? Confused

Oh by the way. Do people think that Florence may date more so than Esther or Beatrix/trice?

OP posts:
seeker · 25/08/2010 08:52

Esther

LJS666 · 25/08/2010 10:58

When I hear Florence I think of "Florence and the Machine". She's cool though.

I love Felicity and no need for a nn.

What about Verity? It's quite like Felicity.

EmmaRoyd · 25/08/2010 10:59

Few aches and pains but that's all. It's sister's birthday today too so I was hoping to give her a niece or nephew on her birthday. Doesn't seem likely though. I think Florence is very 'now' and will get more popular so yes I think more likely to date than Esther or Beatrice/trix.
