FWIW I vote for Daniel (Danny, Dan).

Although why not just register as Danny?

I wanted a Jude - DD2 and DD3 would've been Jude's if they weren't DD's.

Daniel as I know a Jude and he is called Judy

My twisted logic is;
try to think of him as an extreme example a future bank manager or a hippy. Daniel the bank manager, Dan the hippy, fine.
Jude the BM- err no.

Jude- it's just lovely

Jude - Daniel sounds too overused for me.
But both are good, which one is matching your surname better?

I like Jude but I think Daniel is more flexible. We gave DD a 1-syllable name so it couldn't be shortened, and then most of the time ended up doubling it

Jude - there is a jude at my kids school and he is achingly cool.

I like Daniel as it is timeless, No danny's at the kids schools and a good friend of mine was a Danny.
