I know it's been done before but I'd like an update of which are the most popular (that you would actually use, or have used) just girls at the mo...

TIA

I love Elsie. I don't think it's that popular though.

I don't know whether it really classes as an old lady name but mine is Ella.

It was my late Grandma's name.

ivykaty44 · 17/07/2010 10:41

well was she old? if the naem was used before the 1940's that must be old - mustn't it?

my great great aunt was Ella and she had sisters bertha, constance, Elizabeth, Ann,

ahvn't ofund all her sisters but I know there were 9

My granny's names are Ruth and Aline Ursula. Not keen on any of those I'm afraid!

zenoushka · 17/07/2010 12:48

I really like the names Iris, Florence and Betsy.

MrsC2010 · 17/07/2010 13:58

My grandmothers are: Jean (always called Bunty though) and Clarisse.

bebejones · 17/07/2010 14:44

Had a long list of these when I was PG with DD.

Phoebe (which we used)
Laurie - my Grandma's auntie
Kitty - a lovely lady my Grandma used to look after when I was very little
Marianne - what my Grandma was supposed to be called
Elsie - another lady my Grandma used to look after

Would consider all of them again (except Phoebe obviously) if I ever have another DD
