I have been making cards for a few years and have over a hundred.

As I look at them I can see how I have improved as I have gained in confidence but would appreciate someone else's opinion. I will post a couple of photos of cards I have made yesterday and today and maybe, for a laugh will find one from years ago and hopefully an improvement is seen Grin.

Please give me your opinion on my cards

I think people misunderstood what you were asking in your OP which is why you got the comments about selling.

SunshineCake · 06/05/2020 13:09

I've reread my OP and not sure why anyone thought I wanted to sell them but no matter.

I can use what I have made and I will continue to try and improve.

I'm shattered today as didn't sleep well so may only make one or two.

I think they are good. Don't be disheartened y some of the comments above. People are looking for perfection. I would be more than happy to review a card like any of those above if it was made by a friend or relative. The fact that they are not 100% perfect (in terms of lining up etc) just makes them more real, more genuine, and that's the thing I love about a homemade card.

Happy to RECEIVE

@SunshineCake do you have ink pads? You can ink the edges of things to add an extra 'something'. Either the card itself, the backing paper or the embellishments.

I also like tearing the papers (against a ruler if you want to keep it straight) rather than cutting them. This works better with some papers than others, and you have to tear them the 'right' way. It should leave a white edge which can look softer than a straight cut.
Hopefully that makes sense? Keep making and keep having fun Smile

Thank you cornersteps. I'm going to have a look now and see what I can do.

Op I make cards too for a hobby and yours are lovely :) I absolutely love the pink and orange flowerpot one at the top right in the first picture. The colour combo is lovely and bright and it's clean and cheerful.

If you want to add more dimension I pick up a lot of foam tape in the works and a lot of bits and pieces to use there as well for pretty cheap. You've done a lot of matting as well on your cards - if you mat the sentiment as well on a thin rectangle if white cardstock and pop it up on foam tape that could look really good too!

A brilliant you tuber who I follow is jennifer mcguire. She does loads of scene type cards which I think you might really enjoy doin :)

The only problem I have with my hobby is sometimes I know ill make a card for someone and they won't appreciate the effort that's gone in and it will end up in the bin Shock devastating!!

Lovely and extra special being hand made. I'd be happy to buy and send

Some of my cards I have been really pleased with and I should have photographed those!

I've just found out a neighbour has been ill and her dog has died so I need to think about a card for her Sad.

The ones posted don't really show everything I have been able to do but I do need to stop defending myself. I never said I was good. I'm just okay and I will keep trying.

Thanks all.
