Sorry if it has already been organized but I think it would be fun to send a wee parcel (that is if the post is not on strike) With home made goodies to someone ho would appreciate
Let me know what you think

I've done the Hallowe'en swap and with that in mind I've already started incase there was a Christmas one so count me in!

Is this you volunteering to organise it?

JackBauerBlowsShitUp · 02/11/2009 21:53

I am of course more than happy to do a christmas swap!

(was holding off on waiting for halloween stuff to 'finish' before starting it)

mamandomi · 02/11/2009 21:59

well, I am new on this site but I have taken part to numerous swaps in france and it ha alway been fun we can decide toigether of what type of things should be in the parcel, ie something to wear, something to eat, something to play with......
what do you adies think?

Bumping up the thread, am happy to organize again as I have addresses already (and will try not to cock it up this time)

So send me your mails ladies
[email protected] subject christmas swap.

I reckon sign up by 16th Nov
I'll send picks by 20th at the latest and then you have a month before last 1st class posting dates?

We didn't set a limit last time, so I like mamandomi's idea of choosing type of thing, or do you prefer the surprise?

CharCharGabor · 10/11/2009 22:28

I'm in again, really enjoyed the Halloween one. I think choosing types of things would be fun, I was a bit 'argh! what to put in it!' so it would help

JackBauer · 10/11/2009 22:36

We could do things to wear, either the house (a decoration) or a person.
Everyone has such different talents though I am wary of restricting it too much.

CharCharGabor · 10/11/2009 22:58

Hmmmm, agree it is tricky as that would limit the cooks (which in my experience is not a good idea! ) We'll have to have a think.

Geocentric · 10/11/2009 23:08

I loved the Halloween swap and had my Christmas idea all planned out... but life's a little rushed right now and I think I'd better sit this one out.

However,I'll be keeping an eye out for the Easter swap, am definitely in for that!!! Have fun, everyone! (I'm going to put a watch on this so I can enjoy all your lovely swap gifts)

Geocentric · 10/11/2009 23:10

p.s. CharChar, I'm busy enjoying my delicious Halloween chocolate at this very moment...

CharCharGabor · 11/11/2009 00:11

Glad to hear it Geo Enjoy!

Bumperlicioso · 11/11/2009 21:35

Have emailed - v nervous though, never done a craft swap. What if I am much crapper than you are expecting?!

JackBauer · 12/11/2009 08:42

to hear that Geo, but keep watching the threads and we shall surely have one for easter!

Bumper, don't worry, I for one love anything made by someone else for me, whatever it is! (unless it's the hideous bright pink 'hat' with large fleece dangly pompoms that my isster made for me one year)

miamla · 12/11/2009 09:09

yes please

mamandomi · 12/11/2009 10:17

oh! just realized JackBauer has taken charge. I will send my address right now. My idea was not to restrict the type of crafts andit coud be an opportunity to try something new for exemple there could be various categories with wee things (not a hudge blanket)
1- something to eat or nice receipe
2- something to wear (could be jewelry, a scarf..... something in felt, knitted, crochet, fabric...)
3- a crhistmas ornament (this could use any type of craft)
4- a surprise.... anything at all
I don't know really but I will go along with what is decided

JackBauer · 12/11/2009 10:35

mamandomi, don't be offended, I just have lots of the addresses after the halloween swap we did so it's easier for me
We had a lot of varied crafts in teh halloween, the only theme was 'something for halloween' and there were bags, crochet withces/zombies wristbands, scarves, embroidery on towels, pincushions and food as well as a gorgeous dolls quilt from the sickeningly talented dizzy

I quite liekd that it was so open as those that are a bit more nervous of their skills can do what they are good at and bend it slightly to meet the theme IYSWIM, which is why I am hesitant to be too prescriptive, but again, whatever you guys think!

tattycoram · 12/11/2009 11:01

I'm up for it

My vote would be to keep it open too. I do like the idea of combining it with a bit of a recipe swap though, that sounds fun.

I have just remembered that I completely forgot to take a photo of my fantastic pumpkin quilt - I'll do it tomorrow.

mamandomi · 12/11/2009 15:10

As I said whatever is decied i will agree to. I was not offended just a bit surprised that s all. I am already organizing a book swap so really I am happy not to organise anything more. Did you get my address by the way?

OP posts:
miamla · 12/11/2009 16:08

mamandomi, what are you surprised about?

JackBauer · 12/11/2009 19:16

I haven't had an email off you yet I don't think.
It's only because we were discussing a christmas swap while still doing the halloween one that I have offered to do it as I have a lot of details of peopl who want to swap again.

Bumping anyway, mail me on [email protected] to be added!

HellBent · 12/11/2009 19:35

I'm up for this, I've emailed you Jack

ChilloHippi · 12/11/2009 19:53

I'd like to join the swap please. Will email you now.

JackBauer · 12/11/2009 20:07

OOh, mailed you both back, yours made me jump ChilloHippi!

ChilloHippi · 12/11/2009 20:22

sorry

HellBent · 12/11/2009 21:47

Got your email!

DidEinsteinsMum · 12/11/2009 21:52

would love to join but fear wont have time. Is this likely to be a regular thing? Will have five mins as of July and would love to be involved at another time.
Any thoughts about a regular MN craft swap thing?
