bundle · 28/04/2008 22:33

jeangenie · 29/04/2008 08:26

FlorenceUk - sorry to hear about your ds - hope he feels better soon

ranting · 29/04/2008 09:38

Oh I think I can go, will have to check with dh, but it's a possibility!

ranting · 30/04/2008 09:32

I can go!!!!! Are you still going JG?

jeangenie · 30/04/2008 10:48

oh no - I thought you were talking about 2 weeks time and have arranged to pop round to a friend to help her with her knitting instead

two weeks time though...I make that Weds 14th...ok?

ranting · 01/05/2008 09:58

It's ok, I went anyway, had a fairly good time (I gatecrashed the biddies knitting circle, which was fun) and I bought some sock wool. So am feeling quite pleased with myself.
Am still training in 2 weeks time but not sure where I'll be, the first week is in Blackfriars Road, easily walkable. When I find out next week, will let you know.

jeangenie · 01/05/2008 12:12

oooh , lucky you - is the new shop good? hope you can come in two weeks, would be nice to see you again

I ended up not going to my friend for knittng but working late into the night preparing for a meeting today - urgh! would much prefer to have been knitting

OP posts:
florenceuk · 01/05/2008 12:22

ooh what was the shop like? I want some of that cotton sock wool to see if I can overcome the itch factor for the kids.

As an aside DS has fallen in love with a little crocheted turtle in one of my magazines (Knit.1) and asked me to make one - it took me an hour to create a small round 24 dc round! if it was knitted I would have finished the shell by now! I eventually worked out I needed a stitch marker to mark the beginning of the round and that it was not wise to try and watch Heroes at the same time.

ranting · 01/05/2008 19:20

FloUk.
Have done so many amiguirumi lately that I can crochet in spirals with my eyes shut.

They had loads of beautiful sock wool including some lovely silk with silver in it (the owner said it was real silver).
Yes, Jg would love to meet up again, are you coming too, Flo?

florenceuk · 01/05/2008 22:42

42dc now in the round!

florenceuk · 12/05/2008 22:41

so is anyone keen on going on Wednesday?

florenceuk · 13/05/2008 10:33

bump

jeangenie · 14/05/2008 10:17

sorry Florence - can't do this week, have an urgent embroidery project to get finished by Friday

fortnight?

OP posts:
florenceuk · 14/05/2008 15:34

ok with me at the moment (although it's half term, is this a problem for anyone?)

jeangenie · 27/05/2008 17:09

are we up for this? it's tomorrow (that crept up on me somewhat) i'm game

OP posts:
ranting · 27/05/2008 20:32

Oh I can make it!!! Please tell me you're still going

jeangenie · 27/05/2008 20:43

yep yep yep

what time will you be there?

anyone else? FloUK?

OP posts:
ranting · 27/05/2008 20:48

Have got a swerve and manual handling course in Luton (don't ask, it's not very exciting), so I will probably be in London about 5.30ish, will take a leisurely stroll from Blackfriars by the Southbank.

jeangenie · 27/05/2008 21:22

hmm, sounds very strange...i will prob be there 6ish...see you then

(I need something to get me back on track with my knitting - am bored of project and have taken to reading on bus instead will never get finished if I keep going like that)

OP posts:
florenceuk · 28/05/2008 09:57

no I can't come - DH has (self-imposed) deadline to meet, and he forgot he had Monday off. I will definitely try for a fortnight from now.

jeangenie · 28/05/2008 10:32

that's a shame - but hopefully we'll see you in two weeks

OP posts:
elkiedee · 28/05/2008 16:37

I can't do this week as dp is on a late shift but am encouraged to know there are other mners who have gone/plan to go, hopefully will catch up with you some time.

jeangenie · 28/05/2008 17:23

hi elkiedee - just watch this thread - we normally post here when we are planning a visit

OP posts:
jeangenie · 29/05/2008 13:14

lovely to see you FloUK and Ranting last night

I think I have refound my knitting mojo and managed more on the forecast last night and today that I had in the previous two months. I may have to start iKnitting more regularly!

Hope the turtle recovered from the shock Florence and that your socks continue to grow so beautifully Ranting
