Yeah I know I said I'd post on Monday but I know some of you are getting a little over-excited (naming no names meridian) so here it is.

Easter Swap

Either 1 medium or 2 small Easter-themed items. I'll leave the details entirely up to the individual as you all know what constitutes small or medium for your own particular passion.

Sign up on this thread by 11th February & I'll post partners the day after. Parcels should be mailed by 10th March so that gives us a whole month.

To sign up please copy the list of names & post it, adding your name to the bottom.

I'll go first shall I?

Miaou, for me, it depends on whether I get a sewer or a yarn addict. If I get a sewer, I know what I shall make, if a yarn addict, I shall need a rethink.
(Mysterious or what, eh?)

lucykate · 29/01/2008 20:16

i think i'll have to sit this first swap out , got too much on work wise atm

group blog is a good idea, it is really easy to do one in blogger, basically, someone would have to set it up, be in charge of the template, layout etc, then you set it to have multiple authors. each author has to be invited by the person setting it up, but once they respond, all done via email, each author can post on the joint blog using their own, existing, blogger sign in details. easy peasy!

Gingermonkey · 29/01/2008 20:21

Miaou - why don't you just give it a go, or wait and see what everyone does on this one and join in next time (if you fancy it). I think we are all a bit unsure about what to do tbh, as it's the first one. It's been agreed we don't spend a lot of money, a few pounds but nothing more. And we are going to reasses what happens after this one, iron out any creases so to speak. I don't know what on earth I'm going to make. Prob depends on who I get.

Nbg · 29/01/2008 20:27

I havent a clue what to make yet.
Well I do have i8deas but like rabting has mentioned, it all depends on who I get.

Shame LK.

Just while we're on the subject of blogs, can someone please talk me through links.

Basically I had everyones blogs linked (or so I thought) but when you went to them, you couldnt click on it if that makes sense.
So how do I do it properly and have it so that it says just Joes Blog rather than http.///dhfoe nws0dhd cdxlcsdvn\ljoesblog.com

Nbg · 29/01/2008 20:27

i8deas and rabting?????

ideas and ranting.

rantinghousewife · 29/01/2008 20:31

Nbg · 29/01/2008 20:32

serious knackered t0yping error momentrt

Nbg · 29/01/2008 20:33

Oh christ!

I give up

rantinghousewife · 29/01/2008 21:27

And I need to do some reading up on what would be useful to a card crafter too, as I have no idea what I would make one of them yet!

Miaou · 29/01/2008 21:33

So - do you make something as a present for your "partner", or something that reflects their own craft interests? Or is the idea that you send some bits for them to make something themselves?

(I think I am making this more complicated than it is )

rantinghousewife · 29/01/2008 21:36

As I read it, you can do either. Think you can also make something according to their likes/dislikes, preferences in colour, etc.
Hope that's right.

jeangenie · 29/01/2008 21:36

oh, I thought we just made a present for them...but then it wouldn't be totally unlike me to grab the wrong end of the stick with both hands and career off into the sunset

rantinghousewife · 29/01/2008 21:38

I'm going with the useful bit, because I've a couple of ideas and I have plenty of stuff to cover most of what I want to do.

vInTaGeVioLeT · 29/01/2008 21:41

i was just thinking of making a little something in my style and maybe adding a few bits and bobs from my crafty stash that would be suited to my swappee . . . and maybe some chocolate cos it is easter

is that the general idea?

rantinghousewife · 29/01/2008 21:47

Yep, I got the impression that anything goes.
Besides nobody makes me anything, so I will be treasuring whatever I am likely to get.
Not sure how my co swapee will feel about it after they see my creation though

Gingermonkey · 29/01/2008 22:12

My plan is to make something in colours that they would like - obv if I'm making something for a knitter I shan't be knitting...that'd really pee them off (as I can't knit ). SO I would say anything goes and we either make them something in whatever craft we do, bearing in mind likes and dislikes OR send them something that would be useful to them. Yes?

jeangenie · 29/01/2008 22:19

I'm with GM - she talks great sense

Miaou · 29/01/2008 22:32

Ooh great GM - that sounds doable!!

Count me in then

JossStick · 29/01/2008 22:32

How do you know what your partner does / likes / would like?

[would hate to get it wrong emoticon]

Gingermonkey · 29/01/2008 22:35

I am so blooming wise
There's a likes/dislikes bit on the list on the other thread, colours/smells etc. Only generalisations but enough for us to do something without the other one going 'PINK???? I frigging hate PINK, and citrus scents make me hurl!!!!' (of course, t'would be a very ungrateful person to say that y'know )

Miaou · 30/01/2008 09:04

I hadn't seen the other thead - thanks GM!

meridian · 30/01/2008 09:20

lol you are definitly less patient than me GM

dingle-- you best listen to GM as she is very correct you stuff is great.. and I'd be a bit wary if she ends up your swap partner, she might show up at your door to tell you what she thinks!

meridian · 30/01/2008 09:35

has anyone set up a blog? shall I do that now?

Gingermonkey · 30/01/2008 09:36

Go on Meri - you are the webmaster

meridian · 30/01/2008 09:41
