What flower is it? Painting ( photo )

I love painting flowers, and this is my latest one.. now I know what flower it is based upon.. but I have had a few different opinions from friends and family.

I know my style is rather abstract, but i'd be interested to know if anyone can guess what flower it is meant to be? x Flowers

Thanks for guessing, Lots of you got it! I was inspired by an orchid in my house!!!

I think I will pop it up on my Etsy now I know it's recognizable FlowersWink

It's a lovely painting. My initial response was that it is an iris but then looked again and decided it is an orchid.

I've done a few flowers actually - A poppy is my personal fave, and I did a sunflower for my sister's birthday present which turned out nicely Grin more than happy to show them off if anyone's interested, I feel like my head is growing from all these lovely comments !! Blush x

You're really talented. What do you use to paint? Are they watercolours? Do you sell in any galleries?

Thankyou. It's funny, I've never had much confidence, I always painted in private but as soon as I started showing people it really boosted me and made me want to paint more! I use watercolour and ink. I've done 2 local gallery shows (but I probably wouldn't do it again as I ended up losing money)and I'm on Etsy and FB. I Mostly do commissions for local people, pet portraits and things like that which is fun. Have you ever painted? X

I've bought art from Itsy before, I'll look out for yours. No I don't paint (wish I had the talent) but my field of work touches on the art scene 😊

I do like the iris more than the orchid, but actually I found one on your Etsy that I liked even more. I may in fact have bought it, but I'm not saying on here which one it is Wink Grin
