...I got my first wholesale order for my toy horses (started a rabbit too...DH is not keen on the bunny but I have an order for 6 of them and 6 horses)
Like the ones on my etsy page here

I'm a bit nervous though, what if they don't sell and I never get another order? . Has anyone else got any wholesale experience for their bits?

You may have an order from me at some point, dd has just had a good nosey at your wares and pointed out all the ones she likes!!

Wilkie · 09/08/2007 19:32

They are fab. An idea - you could make rabbit doorstops - make the borrom flat and fill with beans. Perfect.

Well done!!

Gingermonkey · 09/08/2007 20:20

thank you ranting

I have tried a doorstop in the shape of a rabbit, my first attempt wasn't brilliant but I'm working on it!!!!, great minds thinking alike, eh?!

They are lovely - well done you! (not in a patronising way - i'm an artist / illustrator and know how hard it can be).

You may be getting an order from here too for xmas!

loopyredangel · 09/08/2007 22:12

Well don gingermonkey it's so nice to see a positive result for a crafter

melsy · 09/08/2007 22:48

They are beautiful Gingermoneky, lovely colour combos. Im an artist/designer ,but been a buyer also (in various markets, one of which is gifts), and get a feel for things quite quickly. I know it can be hard to get a foot in the door to new business.

There's two shops round here who would probably sell them, as such a lovely gift idea. Ones called Deja Vu in enfield ,a lovely little gift boutique, very popular round here and the other one is Minsky in Winchmnore hill , look them up.

Lots of luck

Ive just realised that tis all in $ , are you based in USA ??? If so may be not so helpful !!

Gingermonkey · 09/08/2007 23:24

melsy - no I'm in Yorkshire, but the site is US based (new jersey I think) and so everything is in dollars. There are sellers all over the world tho (it's a fab site, but so addictive. I'm having to rein myself in with spending!!!! ) I will look those shops up and send them a mailshot...I'm getting brave now!

Ruby - I have tried and failed miserably to do a llama. DH reckons everything I draw looks like a horse or a donkey, or a horse with a huge bum My sil came round and I got her to guess what I was designing and she said horse with a collar on (the ruffly front bit that llamas have, thought I'd do it in ribbon).

Llamas are surprisingly hard to draw, you know. (well, they are for me) I feel a failure now Sorry

does this or this help with the shape as a start ?

moljam · 12/08/2007 11:15

i love the rabbit!is it ok if i pass the link details to my aunt ?she has little gift shop and theyd defiently go with other things she has!

Gingermonkey · 12/08/2007 11:55

Moljam, that would be fantastic, thank you! My email is katyejones at hotmail dot com if she is interested. I am also putting some more horses on later today so the shop will be a bit more stocked up.

Melsy - thank you, I really like the second one, spitting llamas, lol!!! I'm determined to do it, I don't like not being able to complete a challenge.

Ruby, I'm going on holiday on weds so I am going to take Llama ideas with me and try and work something out. Wish me luck!!!!

Gingermonkey · 12/08/2007 14:10

ruby I have made a pattern, it's cut out and I think I should have the Llama almost done tonight. I'll keep you updated!!!!!
