What colour is Wednesday? (Or any other day, for that matter.)

I have always thought of the days of the week as having colours - sometimes I see the word written out in colour, other times like a coloured calendar... I know I'm not totally weird, because a Kate Atkinson book I read a while ago made reference to this! So:
Monday - yellow
Tuesday - green
Wednesday - orange
Thursday - dark green
Friday - purple
Saturday - some kind of light colour, not very sure actually
Sunday - dark red

Anyone else?!

Oo, I love the idea of a spreadsheet! Someone else do it Grin

Wednesday is lilac! I actually got irritated reading your op as the colours were all wrong! How ridiculous is that? To me the days of the week are

Monday - red
Tuesday - green
Wednesday- lilac
Thursday - burgundy
Friday - light orangey yellow
Saturday - navy blue
Sunday - Royal blue

Lancelottie · 27/11/2013 22:49

Well, DoTheStrand, I think you'll find red is an unpopular choice for a Saturday. sorry.

I feel like a Thunderball announcer: 'and making its first appearance here on a Saturday, the Red ball...'

Wednesday still green by a majority of 27 votes to a mere 11 for orange, but yellow is making a late spurt here with 8 so far.

deste · 27/11/2013 22:51

I too thought Wednesday was orange before I read the thread.

GinAndaDashOfLime · 27/11/2013 22:53

Wednesday is BLACK!

Monday - light blue
Tuesday - pale yellow
Thursday - purple
Friday - bright yellow
Saturday - orange
Sunday - pale green.

Numbers anyone? 1 = blue, 2 = yellow, 3= dark red ..

MarshaBrady · 27/11/2013 22:56

Monday- blue
Tuesday - yellow
Wednesday - orange
Thursday - red
Friday -pink
Saturday -raspberry
Sunday - warm brown

Do you think Orange doing that film day aha stuck for Wednesday. And Friday for sure is pink.

Monty27 · 27/11/2013 22:58

Wednesday is Brown.

DeliciousIrony · 27/11/2013 23:16

Am I the only one who thinks that Wednesday is red?

Monday = light blue
Tuesday = browny orange
Wednesday = red
Thursday = yellow
Friday = red
Saturday = orange
Sunday = yellow

No green days at all. although I could just about cope with the idea of orange days being purple.

January = Yellow
Feb = Blue
March = yellow
April = Pink
May = Peach
June = Orange
July = Yellow
August = gold
September = Purple
October = Orange
November = Green
December = Red

Beeyump · 27/11/2013 23:19

I don't get it for numbers, but do for some place names. For instance, Edinburgh is quite a dark green.

writingquestion · 27/11/2013 23:25

Wednesday is light blue.

TheFabulousIdiot · 27/11/2013 23:26

Monday -red
Tuesday -yellow
Wednesday-green
Thursday -blue
Friday-darker green
Saturday-white
sunday-I think white too.

TheFabulousIdiot · 27/11/2013 23:30

Green seems to be a popular choice for dense day eh! Orange a close second.

seasalt · 27/11/2013 23:38

I had never thought about this before but green just came into my head and I see lots of others think so too. Will have to work out the other days now Smile

SamHamwidge · 28/11/2013 01:51

Weird this isn't it.

Monday - white
Tuesday - pink or orange, a similar colour to Thursday but I think slightly more pinkish
Wednesday - yellow
Thursday - see above, a kind of orangeish colour
Friday - brown
Saturday - white
Sunday - grey

The strongest are Weds which is definitely yellow and Friday which is definitely brown. The others are a bit murky, but with absolute certainty I can say Tuesday and Thursday match each other colour wise as do Saturday and Monday and to a slightly lesser extent Sunday. Not sure why Weds and Fri are so strong.

Has been this way as long as I can remember.

StairsInTheNight · 28/11/2013 02:43

Monday is light blue
Tuesday is yellow
Wednesday is definitely bottle green
Thursday is orangey yellow
Friday is red
Saturday is white
Sunday is grey

SupermansBigRedReindeerNose · 28/11/2013 02:57

I want what you lot have Envy my mind works by compartments rather than colours, I can quite clearly see when I'm taking things out their filing cabinet in my head when I think Hmm

I'd say I'd happily swap for colours but am greedy and would like both Grin

JulesJules · 28/11/2013 07:21

You could just have your filing cabinets in loads of different colours. That would be great, and kill two birds etc Grin

Lancelottie · 28/11/2013 09:22

DeliciousIrony -- so far, yes!

Lancelottie · 28/11/2013 09:28

Anyone else see colours for colour nouns that are the wrong colour?

I find 'Red' is OK, but 'Green' unfortunately looks pink, 'Blue' is greyish-turquoise, and don't get me started on scarlet and crimson...

Halfling · 28/11/2013 09:36

Monday - White
Tuesday - Pink/Orange
Wednesday - Bottle Green
Thursday - Bright Yellow
Friday - Silver
Saturday - Black
Sunday - Red

Beeyump · 28/11/2013 11:42

Lancelottie that makes my head hurt! What does scarlet look like? It makes me think of thread/ribbons.

Anyway - today is bottle green Thursday, yayy!

OP posts:
Lancelottie · 28/11/2013 12:04

Scarlet, unfortunately, is a very dark red, almost purply. Crimson is light, bright orange.

This is frankly a bugger when it comes to remembering that they're the other way round, near as dammit.

Sometimes it goes with the spelling. Grey is a soft, gentle, pinkish-grey. Gray, on the other hand, is a threatening blue-black...

Lancelottie I see the weekends as a picnic at the bottom of the hill, all lovely and so very deserving after the week of hill climbingSmile

singaporeswing · 28/11/2013 12:50

Yep, definitely green.
