What colour is Wednesday? (Or any other day, for that matter.)

I have always thought of the days of the week as having colours - sometimes I see the word written out in colour, other times like a coloured calendar... I know I'm not totally weird, because a Kate Atkinson book I read a while ago made reference to this! So:
Monday - yellow
Tuesday - green
Wednesday - orange
Thursday - dark green
Friday - purple
Saturday - some kind of light colour, not very sure actually
Sunday - dark red

Anyone else?!

Monday is light blue
Tuesday is yellow
Wednesday is a burnt orange
Thursday is a sort of light blue
Friday is grey
Saturday is orange (nice orange)
Sunday is brown

Morgause · 27/11/2013 18:42

Wednesday is green.

Lancelottie · 27/11/2013 18:47

Wednesday is not just green but pale green, like the light through sea glass.

However, I am pleased to see that JohnnyUtah has Saturday right. Good chap.

Lancelottie · 27/11/2013 18:48

We need a spreadsheet here, folks.
Anyone up for counting the orange-versus-green Wednesdays?

JuliaScurr · 27/11/2013 18:51

relieved to see a majority for green Wednesdays
dp got a pack of 7 coloured socks
he took his life in his hands and wore yellow on Monday
I was amazed he lasted the night

AthelstaneTheUnreadyFucker · 27/11/2013 18:52

Wednesday IS orange Hmm. A sort of umbery orange.

brandyandsummergloves · 27/11/2013 18:52

Sorry you're all wrong, Wednesday is a deep wax-crayon purple

JuliaScurr · 27/11/2013 18:53

orange Wednesdays indeed!
pshaw

Timpani · 27/11/2013 19:24

Monday is blue
Tuesday is blue
Wednesday is definitely yellow
Thursday is brown
Friday is orangey
Saturday is yellowish white
Sunday is yellow

Mine sometimes change though. And it's harder to say for definite what they are. If I were to post next week it may be different?!

With me, certain letters have colour. 'E' is yellow, 'I' is white so sometimes I see the colours of the letters kind of mixing and sometimes I have a colour just for the word.

Eg. 'TH' together is browny red so the name Ruth would give browny red though 'r' is quite greeny.

That's why Wednesdays are yellow for me (the 'e's) but there's a touch of blue because 's' is blue!

I bet I don't make sense do I?!

Puttheshelvesup · 27/11/2013 19:42

I'm another green Wednesday kind o' gal. A yellowy new beech leaf sort of green, and it could never be anything else!

Monday - cold pinky red
Tuesday - blue green
Wednesady - as above
Thursday - warm brown
Friday - warm yellow and black like a bee
Saturday - cold and blue
Sunday - warm buttercup yellow

I have colours for months, letters of the alphabet and peoples names, but not so much numbers. As a child I thought everyone was like this, until I went to uni and a friend had read about synesthaesia in New Scientist and was ranting about how ridiculous the article was, and 'of course people don't have this! Totally made up for entertainment sake!' I kept quiet......

LovelyWeatherForDucks · 27/11/2013 19:43

Wednesday is definitely green!

recall · 27/11/2013 19:47

Monday = Bright yellow
Tuesday = pale orange
Wednesday = pale green
Thursday = mid purple
Friday = navy blue
Saturday = Black
Sunday = pale lemon

Lancelottie · 27/11/2013 20:02

More results please!

So far, orange and green are hugely ahead for Wednesdays, and blue for Tuesdays; yellow seems evenly spread across the week, and there's a minor peak for white, cream and silver Sundays (yes I'm very bored waiting to pick up a child here...)

Sunshinelaulau · 27/11/2013 20:08

What? You make the week climb a hill Sunshine? Surely it's shaped like the weekends are bookends at either side of a shelf as any fule kno.

HectorVector · 27/11/2013 21:08

The moment I read 'what colour is Wednesday?' And yellow came into my head. Therefore it's yellow.

WestmorlandSausage · 27/11/2013 21:25

I feel sad for people who don't see words as colours - I can't understanding the world making sense without it.

I'm definitely in the Wednesday is Green camp.

Monday is Royal Blue
Tuesday is Pale Blue
Wednesday is Green
Thursday is Yellow
Friday is Red
Saturday is like a gold colour
Sunday is Silvery

DoTheStrand · 27/11/2013 21:35

Ok Lancelottie, some more for your spreadsheet Grin

Sunday yellowy-brown
Monday blue
Tuesday yellowy-green
Wednesday ORANGE!!!!
Thursday purple
Friday deep brown
Saturday red

Numbers - even numbers are reds, blues, pinks, pale greens, white, gold.
Odd numbers are browny, orangey, yellowy colours - colours I don't like. But then I don't like odd numbers anyway as they seem lonely!

lottiegarbanzo · 27/11/2013 21:48

Ok, well, the definite ones are:

Tuesday - green
Wednesday - blue
Thursday - orange
Sunday - yellow

Less clearly:

Saturday is black
Friday is purple or grey
Monday is looking rather colourless.

Yes to bookends, the weekend days are higher up. I see this week and next week, running in opposite directions (towards, then away from the forthcoming weekend).

Wishfulmakeupping · 27/11/2013 21:49

Wednesday is green

Chigley1 · 27/11/2013 21:53

Monday Red
Tuesday Blue
Wednesday Yellow
Thursday Green

Always been the same for me, since childhood. Oddly, Fri, Sat and Sun don't have colours, for me.

I thought I was the only one did this for years!

KenDoddsDadsDog · 27/11/2013 21:55

Tuesday is yellow
Friday is red
Sunday is blue

MargueriteLeChou · 27/11/2013 22:02
