COME ON - New cards anyone

UCM · 09/02/2006 00:12

I have posted some more new ones in the Gallery, would love to see some more by you all. Someone mentioned moving on after 'stick ons' (my shame is that I used these at the beginning, I now know better), probably not, just learnt new techniques.

Oh BTW, I got my new ones from Clintons cards

(jarm whistles in the corner quietly waiting for criticism)

Dingle · 10/02/2006 19:38

I have made up a new album in Yahoo called 1st attempts...please feel free to load some of your firsts cards...if you dare!

I have had quite a laugh going through some of mine, but only a few weeks ago I decided that there was really no need for some of them and deleted them!

UCM, could be a lot worse honey!!

jessicaandrebeccasmummy · 10/02/2006 20:18

no one wants to upset me then!?!

UCM · 10/02/2006 21:57

UCM · 13/02/2006 23:09

I have just had a look at the All New on yahoo. I simply can't believe it. They are ALL so gorgeous. I knew they would be as we are all getting better and better. BUT, I am stunned. Would anyone like to sell their cards via my website, which I am currently building? I can put a bit in saying that this card is not made by myself etc. I am thinking of starting up a new website already just for us.

I've been busy today

The photos not brilliant but its using Rose patterened paper (ex UCM I think) and a Sizzix Swap heart ! With glitter parchment stuff over the top !

Trouble is I have to make 2 cards for the same wedding & I'm stuck in a creative rut now !

Dingle · 25/02/2006 09:19

Lovely card Whizzz, simple but very effective.

It can be tricky to make a couple of cards for the same occasion, I tend to try to make them completely different. Different techniques and material...but I will always stick to the colour theme of the wedding if I know what it is.

Let us know how you get on.

Whizzz · 25/02/2006 16:06

Wedding 2 - The Sequel

Still got a heart thing going on !!
What do you reckon??

hullabaloo · 25/02/2006 16:24

soapbox · 25/02/2006 20:24

I've added a few new ones and some new LOs too

here

AQ - you edited a couple of photos for me when I first put them on, the two old ones and so it won't let me delete them, could you try and see if you can get rid of them? They are the Joe and Sleepover cards! Ta

Whizzz · 25/02/2006 20:29

Very nice Soapbox! I love the girlie paper on the 'Mum' cards !!

UCM · 26/02/2006 00:10

Just had a chance to have a look. They are gorgeous. Whizz your sequel card is lovely. I think that the Mum one would look good with a border or not. Soapbox, your layouts are very very good.

JayzMummy · 26/02/2006 01:33

Soapbox....lovin the LO's.
just a tip on photographing them

  1. place LO on the floor outside and stand over it to take your photograph. Crop and straighten in picasa2 (free downloadble photo editing)

  2. Blue tack Lo to a white background at shoulder height. Crop and straighten as above.

Its best to take them in natural daylight and without a flash to prevent glare on image.

soapbox · 26/02/2006 10:43

Thanks!

NO-one spotted that I forgot to select an appropriate section of the paper on the hat card which has spoiled and drama queen right across the middle - still might suit some mums I suppose

Thanks for the tips on photographing the LO's! I was wondering how to get them looking right so that you could read the journalling on them!

Raining today though, so will have to try it out another time!

auntyquated · 26/02/2006 11:14

soapbox--they are fab!

i have deleted the 2 you mentioned. but UCM--- i can't find the ones that you'd like deleted.

i am hoping to make a card or 2 today; there's never enough time.

jessicaandrebeccasmummy · 26/02/2006 11:14

Right, am back to normal this morning.... new pics in my folder.

Thanks to all of you who suggested taking photos in daylight without the cello wrapping... they look so much better!

(Our porch is pure daylight so it doesnt even matter ifi ts raining lol!)

soapbox · 26/02/2006 11:27

Very nice Jarm - I particularly like the baby cards

You use mulberry far better than I can manage - I always think my cards end up looking messy when I try!

jessicaandrebeccasmummy · 26/02/2006 11:41

thanks soapy.... im still learning.... only been doing this 4 weeks!
