I received my prize for coming third in the CM&P card maker of the year comp

1 mini album
1 pack of metal alphabet ribbon charm wraps
1 pack of de.fined words (memories)
1 charmed plaque (flower bunch)
1 pack of burgundy matchbook cards and envelopes
1 pack of metal label holders
1 set of large alphabet stamps
1 pack of 150 assorted metallic brads
1 pack of de.fined words (romance)
1 pack of funky fibres (classic)
1 tube of metal glue
1 pack of fabric frames (sophia)
1 pack of Artisan labels

Its a huge box of lovely Making Memories products...twas like christmas morning all over again

Sat at the bottom of the box was a letter inviting me to submit my portfolio, for consideration to join the in house design team of one of the well known manufactures of card making supplies

Just being asked to do that was a prize in itself....having someone look at your cards and think they are good enough to be considered is such an amazing feeling.....must get my finger out now and start making up some new designs

Wow! You lucky thing!!

You must be very clever! I quite like the idea of cardmaking - have the ideas, but then they end up looking really awful!

Congrats again!

SoupDragon · 13/01/2006 09:24

Oooh - thanks for the stuff BTW - arrived this morning. Along with my larger-than-it-needed-to-be order from that US brad site...

Dingle · 13/01/2006 09:31

A huge well done JM. You deserve it. Good luck on the portfolio!

Have fun playing with your new goodies too.

soapbox · 13/01/2006 09:31

Wow!!!!

That's excellent news. Do you get to play with all their fabby products for free if you're on the design team?

JayzMummy · 13/01/2006 09:32

Soupy...did you get caught by customs??? I ordered the same day as you so maybe Mr Postie will have a parcel for me later on today????

OP posts:
SoupDragon · 13/01/2006 09:33

No customs charge on mine. Was marked on the slip as $25 value so I guess it was under the limit.

soapbox · 13/01/2006 09:36

Oh Soupie - did you get charged customs?

I did so got to go to PO to pick it up and hand over the dosh!!

I found another good site eyelet outlet if any one still wants to get any more stuff!

Their delivery is a bit more expensive, but still good value given the prices. I didn't get charged customs on that one though!

Luck of the draw Isuspect.

You can email me at yahoo, joycemgrant with my bill and your address and I'll get money off to you. Or if you have paypal, happy to pay you that way too

SoupDragon · 13/01/2006 09:40

Mine were free of customs, Soapbox. I wasn't as enthusiastic with my ordering as you were

I've no idea what the ears cost TBH.

JayzMummy · 13/01/2006 09:42

Soapbox....I think so?????
One of my friends works for another company on their design team and she gets all the new products as and when they are launched for free...so I hope so!!!!!
Ive got to get in first though and thats going to be pretty tough as there are some really experienced card makers out there all fighting to get picked!!!!

OP posts:
JayzMummy · 13/01/2006 09:44

Bugger....I bet I will get caught cus I spent over $50!!!
How much extra is it for customs payment??...any one know??

Pixiefish · 13/01/2006 09:45

Congrats JM. Well done on being asked to submit your portfolio- a very proud moment

SoupDragon · 13/01/2006 09:48

The actual value of my order was £31 excl delivery though. Maybe they're economical with the truth

anorak · 13/01/2006 09:53

I'm so glad this has come now for you JM. I hope it will give you a boost after all the rotten things that have been happening to you. A chance to focus on something positive.

soapbox · 13/01/2006 09:57

JM, my customs bill is £7, think I spend about $90 or so!

The eyelet outlet bill was higher though and didn;t get charged on that!

As I said, luck of the draw!

Good luck with the card making for your portfolio!

Think positive, reach for the stars and the moon will be yours...

jenk1 · 13/01/2006 10:12

SoupDragon · 13/01/2006 10:13
