I received my prize for coming third in the CM&P card maker of the year comp

1 mini album
1 pack of metal alphabet ribbon charm wraps
1 pack of de.fined words (memories)
1 charmed plaque (flower bunch)
1 pack of burgundy matchbook cards and envelopes
1 pack of metal label holders
1 set of large alphabet stamps
1 pack of 150 assorted metallic brads
1 pack of de.fined words (romance)
1 pack of funky fibres (classic)
1 tube of metal glue
1 pack of fabric frames (sophia)
1 pack of Artisan labels

Its a huge box of lovely Making Memories products...twas like christmas morning all over again

Sat at the bottom of the box was a letter inviting me to submit my portfolio, for consideration to join the in house design team of one of the well known manufactures of card making supplies

Just being asked to do that was a prize in itself....having someone look at your cards and think they are good enough to be considered is such an amazing feeling.....must get my finger out now and start making up some new designs

SD- glad it's not just me- $90 in an eyelet outlet? I can spend (as you now) but goodness.....

BTW my cardmaking crafts order came today, all excellent. Especially recommend their little 'sweet kitty' style fabric embellishments. REALLY cute! One of mine will be supping a cocktail on a card by bedtime, seeing as my Drinks Sizzlit set also came yesterday. How cool and girly is that?

Ah but PC - I'm just starting out, so need to stock up from scratch - that's my excuse

And it did include some eyelet setting tools too

Brilliant JM - well done!

Ooh, joining a design team is fantastic but I can see why they asked. Your cards are gorgeous.

SoupDragon · 14/01/2006 15:09

Soapbox, (and others) did you get a "thank you gift"in with your order? I got 3 little white rabbit eyelets Not entirely sure what I'm meant to do with them but they're very cute.

BTW, somehow ended up putting an order thorough the eyelet outlet you mentions, SB, and their delivery was only $2.95 for the amount I odered (and $4.95 I think for the next order value up) Very reasonable I thought.

PeachyClair -- would love to see a pic of your finished card, sounds fab and very girlie

soapbox -- you are truly the eyelet queen

I have a selection for DH to photo, I am hoping to put them up on the gallery soon as the ones on there are over a year old! Theya re very girly indeed- but I substituted the drink for flowers, because I was asked to do a flowery girly one for a friend. It's cute thopugh, so much so I ordered 8 more kittens!

I didn't make cards for ages and am really enjoying it again. Before I moved here I used to help teach a card club (in Bridgwater), especially triple embossing, and when I moved here it was- oh. Nobody here does it. then I met one of the Mums and she wants me to do a club with her

Today I have made three bodice cards (feather skirts), 2 kitten cards and a sympathy card (no reason, just an idea I had). Oh, and a valentines card too.

Given that I had two MAJOR essays to do this week too, good going that!

BTW JM- well done!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

SD, I got 4 cute train ones, 4 mini sliver hears, 3 stripey christmas canes, and a flower charm free, which was a nice surprise.

If anyone is thinking of ordering the football brads from there then they are really lovely and great for little boys cards!

I paid $7.95 postage for the eyelet outlet which was reasonable for what I bought. There were a couple of tools in the order which are pretty heavy!

At the moment I'm making some cards for my DS's school friend. They are all into football cards atm, so I'm making a card with a mounted pocket, held on with eyelets and a soccer ball brad, and I'm putting a pack of football cards sticking out of the pocket. I'll see how it looks when its finished!!

Sorry for the hijack JM

soapbox · 14/01/2006 17:48

Oops meant to say, the alphabet brads are lovely too!

Can you tell I'm excited - trouble is I've got so many ideas running around my head I can't keep up with myself!
