how could I display my hanging decorations at a craft fair?

To give you an idea of what I'll be selling, I've posted some images to my profile - basically, I thought I'd be able to get one of those Ikea trees to hang my decorations on but they've sold out.

I'm trying to think whether I could make something myself as I don't want to spend loads (cardboard Christmas tree? a nice branch?!) but it would need to be freestanding and go on the table top.

If anyone has any suggestions I would much appreciate it as I can't seem to find anything online.

A branch sprayed silver then set in a pot with plaster?

countessbabycham · 05/11/2011 22:42

They look lovely! Think DrSeuss is right - the only other option I can think of is a line of ribbon and them attached by brightly painted pegs.

BendyBob · 05/11/2011 22:55

Oh pretty decs!Smile

The branch idea is nice. Or I thought maybe a long piece of wire bent into a twisty squiggly shape pushed into a pot of sand.

countessbabycham · 05/11/2011 22:57

Yes I wondered if you could make something similar to the Ikea thing with some wire.

DunderMifflin · 05/11/2011 23:21

Thanks everyone for the advice and nice comments!

yes - I think a branch might be the best option too.

The ribbon idea also crossed my mind but I can't think how to do the uprights?

I'm not sure I could get the wire to look good enough but its really tempting to think I could do my own Ikea version.

Right - off to the woods to find a branch!!

Have you thought about a <a class="break-all" href="http://www.google.co.uk/imgres?q=metal+knob+jewellery+tree&um=1&hl=en&safe=off&sa=N&rlz=1T4GGLS_en-GBGB410GB410&biw=1093&bih=453&tbm=isch&tbnid=GjES-3P8cW0LWM:&imgrefurl=www.polyvore.com/monsoon_metal_knob_jewellery_tree/thing%3Fid%3D19243351&docid=XxpCqBUgyE7B3M&itg=1&imgurl=www.polyvore.com/cgi/img-thing%253F.out%253Djpg%2526size%253Dl%2526tid%253D19243351&w=300&h=300&ei=xMS1ToauCZTp8QP54fShBQ&zoom=1&iact=hc&vpx=80&vpy=112&dur=930&hovh=225&hovw=225&tx=124&ty=119&sig=117640890368022817871&page=1&tbnh=119&tbnw=109&start=0&ndsp=14&ved=1t:429,r:0,s:0" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">Jewellry Tree?

The decorations look lovely. Smile

ChaosTrulyReigns · 05/11/2011 23:22

Jewellery.

Oops.

DunderMifflin · 05/11/2011 23:24

Thanks CTR - that's lovely but I don't think I could get enough things on there.

Maybe I should just ask around and see if anyone has a smallish naff Christmas tree!

OP posts:
countessbabycham · 05/11/2011 23:26

Why not Dunder? It's def the easiest option and nothing wrong with it!

Good Luck!

WhatsWrongWithYou · 05/11/2011 23:26

Or a vase/pot of branches - maybe some evergreens to look Christmassy, or willow twigs.

ChaosTrulyReigns · 05/11/2011 23:28

John has a wooden tree thingy that would fit more on.

Hold on.

DunderMifflin · 05/11/2011 23:31

Oooh - do you mean this?

That's really nice!

OP posts:
ChaosTrulyReigns · 05/11/2011 23:35

Aargh.

I can't find it.

Bother.

BoffinMum · 05/11/2011 23:38

Use them as nipple tassles?

ChaosTrulyReigns · 05/11/2011 23:39

That's the John one!!

But they had one without bells as well.

I just can't find it.

ChaosTrulyReigns · 05/11/2011 23:40

Use what as nipple tassles?

Confused Grin
WhatsWrongWithYou · 05/11/2011 23:40

Or a driftwood tree.
I'm so annoyed, I saw kits for these at a craft fair in Cornwall at half term, for £2.50. Why didn't I just buy several one?!

DunderMifflin · 05/11/2011 23:40

That's really lovely CTR - look at my link above as I think this is what you were thinking of and it's perfect - I'm going to scope it out 'in the flesh' just to check!

OP posts:
DunderMifflin · 05/11/2011 23:43

Nipple tassles are already a definite but I've made loads so it's the rest I need to hang somewhere (my DSis is helping me out but that's only another two, before you ask!!)

Those driftwood trees are really lovely too - I wish I could do stuff like this.

OP posts:
BoffinMum · 05/11/2011 23:43

Hanging decorations.
Sex sells, after all. Grin

ChaosTrulyReigns · 05/11/2011 23:46

No.

The on you linked had bells on.

The one I saw had no bells and would be more suitable and was only £!2.

I can't undersatnd where it went between looking for the metal jewellery thingy and then actually searching for the wooden one.

I am disappointed in myself.

I need more practice obviously.

Wink
ChaosTrulyReigns · 05/11/2011 23:46

Have you got nice boobs?

DunderMifflin · 05/11/2011 23:47

I'm going to need a bit of support then if I need to be sexy rather than just use my nips as a display - perhaps I could make myself a felt half-cup bra?!

Shock Confused
