High NT waiting for NIPT

At my 12 week scan I measured 5.5, 2 days later I paid private and it was 4.9 and at my visit to fetal medicine I was 3.9. Is it normal for your NT to fluctuate like this?

I couldn’t have the combined bloods as they couldn’t measure baby CRL at my 12 week scan so was referred straight away. Now awaiting my amniocentesis test in 3 weeks however have paid for the NIPT.

Has anyone else’s NT decreased?

Morning

It's normal for the NT to reduce as the fluid is reabsorbed. This is why the measurement can only be done between 11 and 13 wks 6 days - guidance does seem to vary slightly. I hate to say this but have a google to help explain it.

I had a very high NT of 8mm, when I went back two days later I asked if it had reduced and the Consultant said they wouldn't measure it again, the fact that it was high when measured the first time was enough. I went on to have the NIPT and it did come back high risk for T18. I didn't even have a CVS as baby was obviously poorly and I didn't want to prolong the limbo for a third week. A post mortem proved baby did indeed have T18.
