Very low Papp-A and very high Bhcg result

Hi. I’m new here and frantically trying to find some hope. I’m 37 (38 on Tuesday) and expecting my second child, we went for our 12 week scan on Monday and had the screening test done. The scan seemed fine and said I’m actually 13 weeks, not 11+5 that we figured from my last period. Got a call the next day saying I’m very high risk for Down’s syndrome. Went back to the hospital and said I’m greater than 1 in 5 chance so anything up to 1 in 2. Devastated isn’t the word. My partner said he wouldn’t want us to continue with the pregnancy if it comes back a certainty. He has 4 children and doesn’t think it would be fair on our 2 year old, not to mention the baby :(

Actual results:
NT- 2mm
Bhcg- 3.68
Papp-A- 0.23

The midwife said it’s the gap between the 2 numbers that’s the biggest indicator. Anyone had such high/low blood results in my age range and it’s been ok? 1 in 2 to 1 in 5 sounds a lot higher than a lot of the threads I’ve found on here but have seen some positives for the 1 in 5, however she was very specific about mine being GREATER. I’m so lost. There was no mention of the nasal bone and sonographer said everything looks ok.
had the NIPT test done do now I’m in this agonising wait.

Thanks for reading x
