w@nk?

I went on there today out of curiosity.. and many many things disturbed me..

1/ The over use of the word 'hunny' Spelt like that too. Surely if you really MUST use it it would be HONEY?

2/ They have their pictures on there... most MNers would have to go on witness relocation if they had their pics on here (i know some do but not half as many)

3/ They put an inordinate amount odf 'xxxxs' after each post. Creepy.

4/ ... HOW MANY emoticons..?

5/ Its just not right, I wasn't in Kansas anymore, and I shant be going back.

OP posts:

Each to their own xxxxxxxxxx

lovechoc · 29/05/2010 19:42

I agree actually. I've tried it but never taken to it. It did take me a few shots on MN though to get used to it and I've never looked back tbh.

I also tried another very popular parenting site where they all post pictures of their DC and I just got fed up scrolling down and missing the text of the discussion - couldn't see the words for the pictures! I prefer this site - easier to navigate and no annoying baby photos!

VinegarTits · 29/05/2010 19:43

YABU it might not be for you but no need to come back here and slag it off

Veteran · 29/05/2010 19:43

Each to their own and all that.

PortiaNovmerriment · 29/05/2010 19:43

Well, each to their own. At least people who like that sort of thing have somewhere to post.

larks35 · 29/05/2010 19:46

yabu and more than a little childish. It's not my style but nor is a lot of stuff, I don't think that means I should hustle back to my "gang" and slag the others off. Reminds me of school tbh.

ShowOfHands · 29/05/2010 19:46

I think you have ticker envy. It isn't becoming.

Leave 'em be.

Plopsie · 29/05/2010 19:48

I think the OP is extremely bitchy. What are you expecting to gain by slagging it off here? Do you whisper behind your hand in real life, too? It doesn't show you in a particularly good light, you know.

MrsC2010 · 29/05/2010 19:49

YABU

SacharissaCripslock · 29/05/2010 19:50

Keeps 'em off here.

violetbat · 29/05/2010 19:52

alyssa1980 · 29/05/2010 19:54

sunshine2010 · 29/05/2010 20:14

5inthebed · 29/05/2010 20:17

YABU, they'll be along shortly to tell you why.

Firawla · 29/05/2010 20:23

I go on both there is nothing wrong with netmums, you are just being stuck up so yabu

southeastastra · 29/05/2010 20:24

i use it for listings, it's better than mn for that. just differnent sites though, different things appeal to different people.

JennyPenny23 · 29/05/2010 20:27

I used to use NM and when I first tried MN I hated it and it took me quite a while. I found MN really bitchy and also really hard to get interested when its all just one colour.

BUT NM have changed a lot since then. I agree loads of tickers are annoying - although I think one or 2 is fine.

I do however think the LOCAL netmums is really good though.

moominmarvellous · 29/05/2010 20:33

I used to only ever go on Netmums then I discovered here and was seduced by the evillness of aibu!

However I only use the forum on here, I find the rest of Netmums more useful (local/noticeboard/and have sold a few things on nearly new) - and also I post on Netmums when I only want people to be nice to me

We all need a bit of hunny sometimes!

But MN suits my sense of humour more.

EveWasFramed10 · 29/05/2010 20:35

There are annoying things about NM, but that site saved me when I was brand new in England, with a new baby, and was having an awful time meeting people in RL. Since I've found MN (and lots of RL friends), I don't use that one anymore, but if it gets someone through a really hard time, like it did me, then why slag it off?

I like Netmums, WTF am I supposed to do when the MN server is down? Interact with my kid or something?

Sazisi · 29/05/2010 20:40

yabu.
Netmums isn't really my bag, but there's room (and need) for all kinds of parenting sites and there's no excuse for nastiness
