DP and I are having a disagreement about what is right or wrong and it is very silly lol. So I am passing it over to the MN Jury,....
DS2 has potty trained himself in a matter of a week. He has now stopped wearing a nappy of an evening through choice. DP says he MUST wear pjs, but DS2 is a bit of a nudist.

I say it makes no difference at this age but DP disagrees and thinks i should be making DS2 wear pj's or pants in bed....I just think that it is easier not to stress him out while he is becoming used to being dry day and night....

So who is right and who is wrong??

You are right!

NobleFrangipani · 26/05/2010 22:22

You are right - what's your DH's reasoning?

TimothyTigerTuppennyTail · 26/05/2010 22:22

TBH I agree with you. I don't think it matters at all.

carlymarx · 26/05/2010 22:22

You are definitely right!

secunda · 26/05/2010 22:22

You are right! Sleeping nekkid is the best thing ever. Let him be freeeee!

ChunkyMonkeysMum · 26/05/2010 22:22

You are right !!

JaxTellersOldLady · 26/05/2010 22:23

neither of you are right or wrong. It doesnt make any difference if he wears pjs or not.

you are both BU.

Compromise, make him wear pj bottoms or top.

Alibabaandthe40nappies · 26/05/2010 22:23

You are right - especially as it's warm at the moment.

If it was the depths of winter then he might have a point

Overtiredmum · 26/05/2010 22:23

Totally agree, you are absolutely right!

And well done DS2!

Hulababy · 26/05/2010 22:23

You are right.

DS should be allowed to chose what he wears in bed.

If my DD gets too warm in bed she will strip off; not a problem. I don't wear bedclothes generally.

Imisssleeping · 26/05/2010 22:23

Of course you are right, why should he wear pjs if he doesn't want to - doesn't he get cold though?

Karmann · 26/05/2010 22:24

Yep, you're right!

BeenBeta · 26/05/2010 22:24

You are right. It has been very warm of late as well and DS may just feel to hot in his bedroom to wear clothes.

ant3nna · 26/05/2010 22:24

Why should your DS wear clothes in bed if he doesn't want to. I find clothes in bed highly uncomfortable and end up waking up tangled in them and I'm not surprised that a child might find them irritating too.

abbierhodes · 26/05/2010 22:24

Why (according to your DP) 'must' he wear them? I really don't get it.

plonker · 26/05/2010 22:25

Why does dh insist your ds must wear pj's?

I think you are right btw, but am intrigued to his reasonings ...

OnEdge · 26/05/2010 22:26

You are right.

Pozzled · 26/05/2010 22:26

You are right- why does it matter what he wears?

I sleep naked. I remember when I was in a nightie or PJs when I was little, I used to take sooo long to get comfy because the clothes would be wrinkled underneath me or there would be a seam that would annoy me!

Cogitoergosum · 26/05/2010 22:28

Pants in bed? Isn't that illegal? I'm sure I read somewhere that it is.

Poledra · 26/05/2010 22:28

The only possible reason for insisting would be the incidence of poo streaks on sheets. So, assuming that your DS wipes properly (or, as in my case with DD2, you make sure he wipes properly ), what's the problem?

My DDs wear nighties with no pants - bare bottoms are much in evidence here at night.

ruckyrunt · 26/05/2010 22:29

i wouldn't want someone telling me to wear night clothes to bed - I havte waering clothes to bed and like being naked.

I am wondering if your dp makes people do things just for the sake of it even if the possability makes them unhappy or uncomfortable?

thesunshinesbrightly · 26/05/2010 22:29

Of course you are right.

SlartyBartFast · 26/05/2010 22:30

oh, and scratching his anus, could cause worms,
how about boxers?

TheLadyEvenstar · 26/05/2010 22:30

Ok I asked DP and this was his answer..

"I am only going by the things that were insisted upon when the other 2 were toddlers, they were not allowed to be naked in bed at any time I thought it was normal. Thats why i don't bath or shower with him anymore"

This is what his ex insisted upon.....how very sad!!

He doesn't have to wear anything to bed if he doesn't want to.

But it might be advisable for him to own a few pairs, in case he ever has/goes to a sleepover

I have a feeling this might turn into one of those pants in bed threads...
