This morning I had a general anaesthetic. Only to have grommits inserted, but a general nonetheless! Anaesthetics hit me hard, and I haven't had my head off the pillow all day. It's now 9.30pm, there is a dp, ds14 and dd11 downstairs, and I haven't been offered so much as a cuppa all day! I'm bloody starving and am now going to have to stagger downstairs and feed myself!

Pikelit · 16/04/2010 21:31

No, YANBU. In fact you absolutely must not stagger off downstairs to get your own supper. The rest of them are old enough to be waiting on you - and sodding well should be! Time for some shouting downstairs I think.

LetThereBeRock · 16/04/2010 21:33

YANBU.They should be looking after you.

thisisyesterday · 16/04/2010 21:34

omg! that's awful. they haven't even asked you if you want a drink? that's really quite sad

Monty100 · 16/04/2010 21:35

YANBU. If you do go downstairs, place your order and go back to bed! Hope you feel better soon.

AgentZigzag · 16/04/2010 21:35

Bloody hell! YADNBU, have you got your mobile on you? Give your DH a bollocking ring to get his arse in gear?

My DH isn't very good at that kind of thing, but he says it's because he doesn't want to disturb me! luckily I've only been bedridden ill twice in ten years.

WilloughbyWallaby · 16/04/2010 21:36

YANBU and you know it. Get one of them upstairs (shout, call the house phone on your mobile, chuck something down the stairs etc). Have they checked on you? Maybe they think you're asleep. No excuse though, you need to be looked after.

LetThereBeRock · 16/04/2010 21:37

If you do go downstairs do so only in order to kick your dp's backside. He obviously needs it.

jurisfictionoperative · 16/04/2010 21:41

Got it myself. Needed to pee anyway! Ds packing for his scouts trip, dd under a blanket hacking her guts up, and dp looking pained! He made dinner, what more do I want! At least my trusty spaniel is on hand to administer love and attention!

Have thought about tying a note to the dog, but she never leaves my side, so they wouldn't find it till the pried her from my stiffening corpse!

WibbleDribble · 16/04/2010 22:07

I have some left over veggie curry festering in my fridge. Let me know where u are and if u are local enough I will try and arrange swift delivery Oh, and by the way of course YADNBU just in case you were unsure. Hope yr family make up for their selfishness tomorrow.

jurisfictionoperative · 16/04/2010 22:20

Wibble, thanks mate. Perhaps if I give you my number you could text the curry to me! thank god for mumsnet, you all keep me sane!

Had it out with him, apparently I am being unreasonable for being in bed and letting him assume I was sleeping!
And what more do I want anyway? he bought me two books from a charity shop in town this morning! (when he disappeared, didn't answer his phone, and I had to ring mum to collect me from hospital!
GRRR MEN!
AND!!! just to make it double GRRR, DD has just told me, that he refused to take her to check on our ponies, even though I had asked him to before he dropped me at hospital today! Bloody good job they live in a field, not a stable!
It might be a bit twisted to be glad that my dd is ill, but she wants to sleep with me tonight, so he gets to sulk in her room, all alone! Bloody good job!

What an utter twat.

Where do some of you get this blokes from? Personally, there are quite a few of them I'd be shoving back where they came from.

Tell him to grow the fuck up and act like a man not a fucking teenager.

[I think I'm quite possibly more angry than you are about this , but honestly, why do you put up with it???]

gtamom · 17/04/2010 04:24

Yanbu.
E-mail him the man cold video, and tell him you have a man cold type of problem atm.
Summon with a thump on the floor, a cane is great, but a broom works too.
What are grommits?

Sends cyber dinner on tray with a rose in a vase to jurisfictionoperative

gtamom · 17/04/2010 04:28

I googled have grommits inserted, poor you. I hate ear problems, hope you are feeling ok.

jurisfictionoperative · 17/04/2010 04:58

thanks for the dinner gtamom. x
chippingin, I found him 18 years ago when he was young and handsome. back in those days he was quite fun. Its been a long time, he has a lot of good points and the sex, when I actually want to shag him, and not run him over with the lawnmower is better than ever! I can usually put up with the crap bits, but I definately am not happy today.
On a good note, my mum lives next door, and heard us 'discussing it', rang up, and has promised to come round and look after me tomorrow!

OP posts:
jurisfictionoperative · 17/04/2010 11:00

Anybody willing to send me a cyber breakfast? Looks like it'll be the only one I get!

OP posts:
ChippingIn · 17/04/2010 12:11

LOL - I take it you were chatting nicely about it then

18 years ago - hmmm - you'd be out by now you know

I'm sure that nearly all of them have their 'better sides', but sure to be God some of them would end up under my veggie patch. [Then again - hmmm - incredibly good sex.... might get him a little bit of wiggle room].

That is a disgraceful way to treat your wife who has just had surgery (yes I know it's 'minor', but you still had a GA), it would be a disgraceful way to treat your wife who was just feeling a bit under the weather. He needs a good stern talking to!!!! (lends you steel capped Doc's).

Please enjoy your brunch - I'm cyber sending you whatever you'd like to order

(So, does you Mum need a good talking to as well or does her 'shift' start later on>?)

How is DD this morning??

jurisfictionoperative · 17/04/2010 12:17

Have steelies thanks I'd like bacon and tomatoes on toast please. Mum is not too well herself, but did pick me up from hospital when dp disappeared! She usually spoils me so is pretty fab.

OP posts:
ChippingIn · 17/04/2010 12:22

Would you like juice/tea/coffee? Wholegrain or white toast?

Also on the tray, a bunch of flowers, couple of mags, some chocolate & a good book

Sorry to hear your Mum's not too well either - a virtual bunch of pretty flowers for her too

nickelbabe · 17/04/2010 13:41

jurisfictionoperative · 17/04/2010 16:05
