...painting the cat pink !!!

She is 3.5 year old and should of been having a nap. She went into the spare room found some craft pink paint. She painted a bit of the spare duvet cover a bit of the hall wall etc. When I caught her she was very sorry and pointed out most of the paint which I cleaned, luckily it is washable paint. I left her in her room with the baby gate shut to think about it.

My husband went up a few minutes later to get her and brought her back to tell me she had only done it as she wanted Milly her favourite cat to be pink.

LOL, my husband has gone in search of the poor cat...with camera in hand. I'll post a picture shortly after husband has finished washing the poor cat.

I was wrong wasn't I ? To burst out laughing and cry tears of laughter when I heard/saw what she had done.

Poor cat.

She has just told me she is very sorry and will not paint the wall again ! Kids

No it is a washable children paint. Only on the cat for a minute and completed washed off. We were lucky it was those paints and nothing more toxic.

You were wrong to laugh imo.

Poor cat.

Sorry, I rarely see a funny side when animas are involved.

diddl · 20/03/2010 15:05

Or even animals

MayorNaze · 20/03/2010 15:07

i owuld have laughed. though i owuldve tried v hard not to do it in front of dd. our cat is white so it would have been even funnier...

Babieseverywhere · 20/03/2010 15:08

I am amazed the cat stood still long enough to be painted. Milly cat adores DD and often sleeps curled up on her pillow at night.

On a serious note we have always trained our children to respect the cats and to date we have had no problems.

How much paint was on the cat?
Perhaps she was initially asleep?

Babieseverywhere · 20/03/2010 15:18

Apparantly Milly was awake and "liked" being painted.

She is a super easy going cat, she just sat still as my DH washed the paint off too.

Childrens paint'll be fine on the cat. I am sure it's happened a million and one times up and down the country. I used to try and paint my guinea pigs nails

OhDearYoda · 20/03/2010 15:21

Would love to see the photo

coldtits · 20/03/2010 15:23

I wouldn't have gone all po faced, I'd have collapsed with mirth. In front of the child too

Babieseverywhere · 20/03/2010 15:23

I have asked my husband to upload the photo.

Curiousmama · 20/03/2010 15:24

yes shame you didn't take a pic I'm sure pussy will be fine if it's paint kids use, they eat the stuff after all!

Babieseverywhere · 20/03/2010 15:24

"I wouldn't have gone all po faced, I'd have collapsed with mirth. In front of the child too "

Good, that is exactly what I did.

Milly

ASecretLemonadeDrinker · 20/03/2010 15:32

I expected this or this !

Lobyd · 20/03/2010 15:33

Love this! I have a small DD and 2 cats...sure this kind of thing is bound to happen at some point!

Think Milly looks very fetching.

Babieseverywhere · 20/03/2010 15:33

Mmm, now DD wants a VERY pink cat.

MrsVik · 20/03/2010 15:35

Bless her!

I would have died laughing. I love cats - mine would definitely not have tolerated being painted.

It's things like this you'll laugh about together in 20 years time. Poor puss - no harm done though, I'm sure!

wonka · 20/03/2010 15:37

I'd have laughed too in fact did when I left my children colouring in with felt tips and came back in to my baby with purple hair! Stayed like that for weeks.. I only went to the loo!

Babieseverywhere · 20/03/2010 15:38

LMAO wonka

ASecretLemonadeDrinker - HOW did you get the guinea pigs to sit still long enough? I ask because I have just finished cutting our GPs toe nails. It is a job I dread so I put it off as long as possible and then they start to curl over and it is a nightmare. It takes two of us - one to hold the GP still and the other to cut.

I always dread that I will go too low and make it bleed. The lady in the pet shop said if that ever happened then the best thing to do was stick it in a potassium permanganate solution. Anyway I have had pp in for ages just in case and the time before last it happened! Aagh. The bleeding soon stopped but we stained the GPs foot purple and as she is white that was quite striking.

Not unlike Milly (to get back on topic)

Wineonafridaynight · 20/03/2010 15:56

Whoops 5Foot5 - I just scanned your post and was confused as to why you were painting your doctor's toe nails!
