...painting the cat pink !!!

She is 3.5 year old and should of been having a nap. She went into the spare room found some craft pink paint. She painted a bit of the spare duvet cover a bit of the hall wall etc. When I caught her she was very sorry and pointed out most of the paint which I cleaned, luckily it is washable paint. I left her in her room with the baby gate shut to think about it.

My husband went up a few minutes later to get her and brought her back to tell me she had only done it as she wanted Milly her favourite cat to be pink.

LOL, my husband has gone in search of the poor cat...with camera in hand. I'll post a picture shortly after husband has finished washing the poor cat.

I was wrong wasn't I ? To burst out laughing and cry tears of laughter when I heard/saw what she had done.

Poor cat.

She has just told me she is very sorry and will not paint the wall again ! Kids

DS decided to rub Doublebase into the cat last week when he was supposed to be doing my back (he loves doing this I dont force him). I wondered why he appeared to of stopped

The cat let him too without a peep

I don't know what's funnier - the cat or all the po-faced judgemental people

I'd have keeled over too

Water soluable (craft/kiddy) paints are based on vegetable oils and food-grade colourings. It will have done neither cat nor child any harm.

I'd be smirking too, OP.

ASecretLemonadeDrinker · 20/03/2010 17:08

Not quite sure how the cat would lick the top of it's head (in the case of OP)

I wasn't very successful at painting their nails I'm afraid - alot of poising at the ready with the nail brush when one of them stopped long enough. As for trimming nails, I am afraid I had the 'cruel to be kind' approach and one person held while I held the foot and trimmed. Only one foot at a time though, but if you let them run on a patio etc. alot it wears them down naturally and you don't have to trim them

thats made me smile. When i was about the same age i used to dress my cat in dolls clothes and he just used to sit there and put up with it, the only thing he didn't like wearing was the bonnet

MadamDeathstare is right, we have 6 cats and yes they do cuddle up and groom each other.
(DH and I use to volunteer in cat rescue and tame feral cats which is why we have so many)

It could of been serious but in this case it wasn't.

Milly (clean) is sat in front of me having a few cuddles and DD is asking "what Milly is saying" I try to explain basic cat behaviour to my kids, so they look for flat cross ears, happy tails etc when they interact. I said Milly is upset because you painted her, that made DD feel sad too...awww

Bet you a tenner Milly will still be on DD's bed at bedtime.

Another LOL from me. When I was small I painted pink strips across our white cat because I wanted her to look like Bagpuss - all well and good and a fab way for my mother to shame me for the last 30 odd years - however, quite why I also painted her nose blue and 'tidied up' her whiskers at the same time is beyond me

They had to keep the cat in for a few weeks in case she got trapped anywhere!
