I chop them up and put them in pasta spreads the cost a bit.

StealthPolarBear · 05/11/2009 16:31

mm i love them

NorbertDentressangle · 05/11/2009 16:32

I actually like the LMcC ones but only the normal ones not the ones that were supposedly sundried tomato flavour or whatever.

MadHairDay · 05/11/2009 16:32

yanbu
they're hideous
Haven't found any nice veggie sausages tbh

JamesAndTheGiantBanana · 05/11/2009 16:36

I had them for lunch. They're alright, much much much better than tesco's own meat-free lincolnshire sausages, which are appalling - the worst veggie product I've ever had, apart from tofu

pointydogg · 05/11/2009 16:47

I bought LMcC products years ago and thought they were horrid unnatural things.

pointydogg · 05/11/2009 16:47

I used to eat cauldron sausages and thought them ok.

StealthPolarBear · 05/11/2009 16:50

yes, tried cauldron recently, they were nice

Lionstar · 05/11/2009 16:50

Cauldron Foods Cumberland and Lincolnshire veggie sausages USED to be very acceptable, but they changed the recipe and now they are way way to salty.

Have switched to Quorn Bramley Apple veggie sausages which are reasonable. In fact having them with mash & peas tonight.

muggglewump · 05/11/2009 16:52

Oh I love Tofu. Matninaded and fried rill it;s crispy it's bloody delish!

I'm an omnivore, but DD recently said she wants to be pescatarian.
I bought veggie sausages from Asda and made a toad in the hole with them and by god they were revolting. Like weird rubberised salt.

The Glamorgan ones not pretending to be meat were OK though.

We were at the Good Food show last week and I bought some rare breed poncey pork sausages for myself. They were lush.
DD had a bite and is now pescatarian except for 'those yummy sausages'

Morloth · 05/11/2009 16:53

I love tofu when it is being tofu it is when it is trying to be something else I find it vile (i.e. cheese/meat whatever).

muggglewump · 05/11/2009 16:54

matninaded is good, but marinaded is somewhat better

muggglewump · 05/11/2009 16:56

Tofu being cheese?
Good god that sounds vile.
Wronger than wrong.

Poppity · 05/11/2009 17:35

Sosmix, that's what you need. It's much yummier than all the new fangled ready made ones

MintyCane · 05/11/2009 18:00

I love Sosmix makes great meatballs

PixiNanny · 05/11/2009 18:01

I love sosmix, and tofu I prefer Quorn sausages as the LM ones have a weird aftertaste!

TheBlairSnitchProject · 05/11/2009 18:11

The best supermarket sausages are the Gluten Free ones (Black Farmer are my favourite). They leave out all the breadcrumb padding and you just get lovely meat

No good for Veggie's though ;)
