I second the quorn sausages. Especially good with onion gravy and mash and maybe yorkshire puds .

Linda mcartney meat and onion pies are disgusting. Horribly strong oniony / garlic after taste. Quorn chicken pies are loads better.

There is nothing wrong with tofu, it's a legitimate food eaten by hundreds of millions of omnivores, ditto tempe. Linda McCartney/Quorn however, yuck yuck yuck.

haven't tried sosmix though, will overcome my suspicion and buy some

tofu comes in many forms, most of which are putty-like. Deep fried firm tofu is good.

I like the Cauldron sausages, but yes, you can't beat sosmix - I made Sosmix pie recently- it was lush, and very retro.

cauldron pre marinated organic tofu is yum, imo. And if you get the normal stuff it's a lot less wet sponge-y if you freeze it first, then defrost it...

My DH was always suspicious of eating Quorn because he used to work on the chemical plant next to the one where the quorn was brewed up. Sometimes he knew they were having a bad batch

I quite liked it but on his account haven't had it often.
