The freshly stuffed type you buy from M&S? We had an agreement that all meals would be freshly cooked. I take ages making each meal for him from scratch and have never given him pre-prepared or convenience food and bit annoyed she has.

YANBU.

Your child, your call.

If she has agreed to this she should not have given to him.

MrsMcCluskey · 15/05/2009 23:13

from the title thread i thought she may have goven him a tin of spaghetti hoops - even then I think you would have been unreasonable.
But then I do live in the REAL world.

Shitemum · 15/05/2009 23:13

Snippets how old is your DC?

At least 13 weeks I hope?

mrsblanc · 15/05/2009 23:13

phone the pasta police

Snippets · 15/05/2009 23:13

Not asking her to make pasta - just to make a fresh sauce/filling like I do everytime I give DS pasta. Takes 5 minutes to chop some tomatoes, add some herbs/cheese. Are you all that lazy?

fecking hell, I thought I was answering first!!!

lilolilmanchester · 15/05/2009 23:13

OK, lets assume this is not a piss-take. You have a childminder so fair to assume you work. What do you and your DP eat every night? If you have the energy to come home and cook from scratch every night (right down to making your own pasta ) then presumably you are organised enough to make extra pasta from scratch to pass on to your (extremely normal sounding) childminder to give to your DS???

cheltenhamgal · 15/05/2009 23:13

wow but surely you werent expecting her to make the pasta from scratch ?

theDreadPirateRoberts · 15/05/2009 23:14

WTF?

BettySwollux · 15/05/2009 23:14

Nowt wrong with baked beans when you're pushed for time love.
Beans on toast contains as much protein as an 8oz steak.
Think you're being a bit precious and yeah, YABU.

Habbibu · 15/05/2009 23:14

Definitely a wind-up. Italians don't make their own stuffed pasta. Heaven in Bologna

cheltenhamgal · 15/05/2009 23:14

sorry x posted

GlastonburyGoddess · 15/05/2009 23:15

YABU you are being precious. she couldve given him bake beans, chips and chicken nuggets. but ready made pasta from m+s ffs...

fryalot · 15/05/2009 23:15

um... I think I object to being called lazy.

I tend to make all our food fresh.

But I would be quite happy to give my family freshly stuffed pasta from M & S.

If I could afford it, which I can't, so they'll have to forego that particular pleasure.

YABVU and are starting to get quite rude and on my tits.

"Not asking her to make pasta - just to make a fresh sauce/filling like I do everytime I give DS pasta. Takes 5 minutes to chop some tomatoes, add some herbs/cheese. Are you all that lazy?"

Yep.

hereidrawtheline · 15/05/2009 23:15

I find this so amusing!! Really, get a Nanny. A CM surely is too common for you

of course (if this is serious) we want our children to eat healthy but come on... drawtheline! How "fresh" do you think dried pasta is??? I am sure M&S fresh is fresher

KingCanuteIAm · 15/05/2009 23:16

Snippets, that is great if you want to eat tomatoes herds and cheese every time you eat pasts, personally I like some variety. Making a chees sauce from scratch is eay and quick, making stuffed pasta from scratch is not easy or quick.

No, not lazy, I just have a life!

Snippets · 15/05/2009 23:16

14 months and no he has never had jars/convenience food or other pre-packaged crap. Sorry if you think that's anal. Seems pretty common sense to me.

OP posts:
Bonneville · 15/05/2009 23:16

How old is he? Never had baked beans? OMG are baked beans such a sin?!!!

Notalone · 15/05/2009 23:16

As lilolil said - if you feel that strongly then send some of your own freshly made pasta with your DS. Still think you are being bloody ridiculous though. Most of us are not lazy, just very very busy with more important things than fresh pasta on our minds.

Habbibu · 15/05/2009 23:16

What - you make your own ravioli/tortellini? All the time? You loon.

Think I'd rather have M&S stuffed pasta than tomatoes herbs and cheese put together in 5 mins. blee.

kalo12 · 15/05/2009 23:16

YANBU I think she sounds common, you should sack her, lazy bitch!
