she loves it, we had a swim this am then we went in the jaccuzzi, we start off by letting her sit on the legde with her feet in, then she gets in and stands on the seating area.

someone told me that i shouldn't let her go in it today, but we have gone in there loads of times before.
never harmed her in anyway
she dosn't swallow the water or anything and i don't think its too hot.

what do you think?

Please just be nice and FOLLOW THE RULES!

If we all did that this country would be a nicer place and the prisons wouldn't be so over crowded would they now?

theyoungvisiter · 29/04/2009 21:22

I think actually this has become about more than just jacuzzis (hence the level of feeling on the issue).

it has become symbolic of the clash between two camps - those who feel that Rules Are Rules and those who feel that Rules Are Made to be Broken.

I am very much in the first camp. I had a panic attack as a small child when my grandfather persuaded me to climb over the wall into the garden of the empty house next door to pick up some of their windfallen apples. The lady who lived in the house had died and it hadn't yet been sold. I had a sobbing fit on the lawn I was so worried about being caught scrumping and had to be taken home weeping.

KingCanuteIAm · 29/04/2009 21:26

I quite like the idea of that as a new disclaimer actually

Thunderduck · 29/04/2009 21:26

I remember watching that episode Baisey.

BodyBagEgg · 29/04/2009 21:27

OMG "prisons wouldn't be so over crowded"

Send the OP directly to jail, DO NOT pass go.

hmc · 29/04/2009 21:37

fucking hell hmc shakes head slowly

Can you hear your brain rattling?

sleeplessinstretford · 29/04/2009 21:44

no-but my guess is yours would make a teeny tiny rattling sound.like a dried pea in an empty aircraft carrier...

hmc · 29/04/2009 21:49

lol,touché!

It was actually a pretty venal thing to say though, and you did deserve to be picked up on it..and your defensive response does rather show that you know it!

sleeplessinstretford · 29/04/2009 21:54

alternatively i think if she wants to boil wash her kid that's one thing and fuck all to do with me.
however-rules is rules is rules-i think you may have misunderstood the first post so if you like i can break it down further into a sentence a night if you like or if you think it might help you 'get it'

for the benefit of any others who think i am endorsing scalding children i am not-merely pointing out as a side issue you know-she was pretty rude

Firepile · 29/04/2009 21:57

"amen to that
and all the sniggering at old people
you sound ageist to me "

Quite so, Compo.

hmc · 29/04/2009 22:00

I give up. You are irredeemably unpleasant.

YorkshireRose · 30/04/2009 00:48

Heck, CALM DOWN everyone!

Get yourselves a cup of cocoa and get to bed!

Oh, i think you already have.....

Blu · 30/04/2009 14:44

LOL, I am SO pleased that this thread has vindicated my lifelong distaste for jaccuzzis.

I will not be using one because of jism, shit and crap at the bottom of the pool, legionnella in the pipework, poisonous fumes at the surface, toddler- piss, boiled babies and the vaginal juices of over-petted teenagers in the water, and companions who include toddlers screeching 'rabbit' in my ear, mothers with a sense of entitlement that would cause so much water displacement that we'd all be shouting 'Eureka', tub-rage fishwives, and opressed and abused senior citizens.

It just doesn't sound relaxing.

And frankly, the last sort of facility to offer at a HEALTH CLUB!!

Quattrocento · 30/04/2009 15:02

YABVU

Horrible and churlish to let tot in jacuzzi on three counts

(i) The rules of that establishment didn't allow it

(ii) Therefore people were entitled to expect a tot-free jacuzzi and actually dared approach you to tell you so. You sniggered

(iii) Tots wee in jacuzzis - not nice for other people

LOL at Blu

Very elegant indeed

Rindercella · 30/04/2009 15:21

You see, once again I find myself applauding Blu.

When I was at an Esprit chalet hotel earleir in the year tehre were signs saying no kids in the hot tubs. Of course they were rammed full of ankle biters. Pissed me off no end. My DD used to beg to come in and I said no, that kids weren't allowed. Which she thought was harsh becasue there were loads of kids in there. But just becasue some people were ignoring the signs, didn't mean I was going to.

BradfordMum · 30/04/2009 18:34

Some people just don't deserve children, and should expect to get sniggered at when they advance in age.
